Diecast Racer X final standings...

Traction-Event Tuesday, 12/30/2014

As some of you know DCX on youtube held some mail in races in 2014, you had to buy a track pass...

GSRmicroracing, K&O, and myself from this site took a chance... and all won in different classes. Not a lot of participation...hoping that will change next year.

Congrats again to Traction Event and GSpeedR on their well earned wins, I will be in the Time Trials with you guys again this year!

Post up pics of your trophies when they show up, I'd like to see them. I will be posting mine up.

  • He told me the Time Trials winners will be getting trophies, they are not ready to be sent out yet though. — KandORacing

when and how do we enter for this year's X finals ? ... lets all... well, most of us,  rock their race ! what is the weight limit ? ... [lots of room in a Vicky]

Smitty, here are the basics on rules... when I get home today I'll dig up the official rule sheet. The "golden tickets" will be listed on ebay...where they are available.

Stock, Production: A bone stock production car (Sports cars, muscle cars, etc.)

Stock, S-Class: A bone stock fantasy or concept model casting

Modified, Production: A modified production car, with no weight or wheel restrictions.

Modified, S-Class: A modified fantasy or concept model casting with no weight or wheel restrictions

Modified, Formula R: Formula R means Formula Race model. Modified castings with no weight or wheel restrictions such as the Ford GT40s, Porsche 917s, Indy Cars, Sol-Aire CX4s, etc. would fit into this class.

Modified, Classic: Any model of pre-1965 car, modified, with no weight or wheel restrictions would fit into this class.

  • 4 out 6 classes seem to be modds... neeto !... let me know how much — model40fan
  • PM sent... — Traction-Event
  • East Ridge is the course that they race mods on.... 4 straight sections of sectional orange track with banked corners. — KandORacing

How about a 1968, FTEed,101.6 gram,'32 Ford Victoria on an A-OK base with a Snoopy grill n mill...

modified S class ?

  • duece duel with TE... ouch ! — model40fan
  • Absolutely!!! bring it on Smitty, finishing work on my 32...95g...slight alignment issue...in the shop! — Traction-Event
  • It could be.... I don't want to ruin it for you guys but they might require stock body & base on mods? — KandORacing
  • I asked last year, if you modify the stock out line of the car....modified s class. Fantasy car — Traction-Event
  • hmmm... i may have to pull down the 2012 track record holder from the KINGCUDA INTERNATIONAL RACEWAY in West VIRGINIA...100 plus grams. — model40fan
  • If I remember correctly that is a modified ultra-quick Way 2 Fast..... I better put something GOOD together for this. — KandORacing

Sorry to add to that, stock base and body end up being production class.

Tony has mentioned in the rules, if there is any question, take a photo and he'll okay it or not.

I need to scan the rules, and post them, or send them to Smitty.

Anyhow I did ask about mixing and matching bodies and bases....he said it would be ok.

I'll email him and confirm.

DCR "Track Pass" rules

How it works:

send one car to DCR, along with one of your "DCR Track Passes" and you willgain access to one of our courses. The name of the course you will be able to access is written on the front of your ticket. Your car will be given three clean runs against the clock and we will keep your best single of the three. (DNF runs do not count against you). A video of your car's best run will be posted on (www.dcraction.com and youtube/diecastracerx) along with a credit to you. Once you have entered your car into an event,it cannot be entered into an other events within the same season. The one with the best time in eac class at the end of the season will earn a trophy and be named champion.

General racing rules:

The car must be a 1:64th scale or something comparable. It must be gravity powered only.

Stock class rules:

Stock means no modifications. car must have never been taken apart. Must have original rivits, windows, interior, and wheels. Custom paint or decals permitted on the body within reason. A stock car must weigh within 1 gram of what DCR considers to be stock weight of car.

Modified class rules:

A modified car must start as a stock car before it gets customized, it cannot be built from scratch. A modified car must keep it's stock body and maintain it's original silhouette or outline. As long as you follow rules 1, and 2 the wheels, chassis, and weight are all open to modifications

Disclaimer:

Must be 18 or older, or have permission from Parent/Gaurdian to use a DCR Track Pass. Once you ship us your car, it will be the property of DCR LLC from that pointon untill we ship it back to you. All images and video of your car will also be property of DCR LLC. DRC LLC wll not be held responsible for any damage done to your car during shipping/handling or during a gravity race.

Shipping:

We will ship your car back to you in a bubble wrap shipping envelope at the end of the 2014 season. This is in case there is a tie and we have to run two cars against each other for a tie breaker.

Tips:

Test your car at home first. Send us an email with a picture of your car so we can "okay" it before you ship it. Check out our website to get pictures and specs on tracks and cars. any questions??? Email diecastracerx@aol.com

  • mods must be paint only?...reminds me how good we have it here ! — model40fan
  • no, I would send a decsription and photo of yout car to DCR...from talking with him last year he wants to see the off the wall customs.... — Traction-Event
  • but most think weight and paint make a custom...not in my book — Traction-Event
  • DITTO... — model40fan

Trophies showed up today....Hell yeah!  these are cool... engraved, and a base with multicolored led lights. These will be proudly displayed, in the basement...
