Dueling Derbies Entries
These are my first major project cars so I thought I would post a build thread. These are works in progress so I welcome all feedback. This will be my first attempt at a mail in event and being the new guy I hope to make a decent showing.
Entry #1 '32 Ford Sedan Delivery
If I have a shot at a decent finish I believe it will be with this car. Metal chassis and metal body give it some weight and most of that weight is down low. Plans are to channel the body over the chassis, add FTE2 wheels, and give it some custom paint. I actually like the stock paint but it has some imperfections and I have scratched it while working on it.
This is how it currently sits.
Entry #1 Bread Box
Its actually going to be 2 Bread Boxes joined together. The wheel base is pretty short so I hope the extension and added weight helps with performance. If not its something I wanted to try so maybe it will turn out cool. It will eventually sit on wheels from a Chevelle SS.
Here is how it sits. Lots of grinding and sanding left to do.

I liked the Santa paint but wanted more of a garage built hot rod look.
Making progress on the 32 Ford. Still a long way to go on the Bread Box.

Thanks for the props guys. I finished it up and need to post some pics. The paint got messed up when reattaching the chassis so it doesn't look quiet as nice.
The body is channeled, the wheels are FTE2's, the axles are polished and lubed with graphite, there is some weight in the rear, and the axles are mounted solid. Are there any speed secrets I missed that you guys are willing to give away before I finish the Bread Box? I am afraid it is going to be too long and top heavy.
I am putting them in the mail today. I hope the weight isn't off too bad. All I have is a cheap kitchen scale.
to double check slide 'em in your pocket on your way to the post office... they will let you weigh them at the counter...
the local police dept. may give you one they confiscated [ if your picture is not already at the P.O].
