Fake FTEs for 2016?

I found this Hot Wheels 3 pack that had an FTE Mustang. The tampos are exactly like the ones in 2011. With further examination, the axles are unfortunately not FTE axles. Axle deprecation also happened with Ultra Hots whereas in the '90s, the axles were changed from thin racing axles to normal axless.

My wife actually bought me a few 2005 2006 first editions that had the fte-color wheels but did not say 'faster than ever' anywhere on the package.
This is one example...
Also got the Bone Shaker, Ferrari 512M and a couple more that looked just like FTE's, but I guess they aren't because it isn't written on the card.

I always hated the wheels that looked FTE but they were the straight up gold color and not the slightly bronze color. It was always hard to tell on the pegs. I didn't know they reused the bronze rims with non-FTE...talk about making it difficult.
