FTE-s warming up...

I was running a few races with the track in it's new location and I noticed something that I have seen in the past quute a bit...and never mentioned. But, it is something to consider if you are running a race...FTE wheels will 'warm up' after they have been run a few times and they will run faster.

In other words, if a car just wins a race and goes right into another race, that car will have an advantage because it is already 'warmed up'.

I usually posted my videos in between rounds, so the cars have a few minutes between races to cool off.

I know this sounds silly, but the wheels are turning thousands of rpm's, so it makes sense that they might warm up and expand a little.

This is just something to think about if you are hosting a race. Give the cars a couple minutes between rounds. If you run a car in the next round right after it got done racing, it will have an advantage.

I just did the math...a .5" wheel (medium size) running a 20 foot track in 2 seconds...which is about right...is spinning the wheels an average of over 4,500 rpm. So, at maximum velocity, those wheels are probably spinning 5-6,000 rpm...pretty impressive!

I would think too that more runs means more rub on axles which may help smooth it out and makenit better as well. Good reason to reuse cars when you can.
