Game update, the harsh reality
I have some disappointing news...as I look into my crystal ball, I'm not entirely confident the game update will be completed by the Spring as I had planned and hoped. Work has required some late hours recently and getting my house ready for a new baby has taken it's toll as well, which I know many of you have probably experienced already.
All that adding up, I figure I'm about half way through building the update and with (maybe) only 2 months worth of weekends left, I just don't foresee it being ready for prime time by then. My deepest apologies for the failure of timeline. I'm really bummed at myself but it is what it is...and hey, it's only a hobby.
BUT THE GOOD THING IS we still have the Fantasy League as-is so I think my plan right now is to start the fantasy league back up in the Spring on the same platform we used last year...in other words, no major updates or changes. There will be new cars and maybe some new achievements but that's about it.
So we won't be without racing but it won't be as fancy as we want. Teams will still have to be handled here in the forum.
Again, sorry for the let down...no one is more bummed than I.
However, since we'll be sticking with the same game and site, that means racing can start earlier than I expected, so I'm looking at a March launch to kind of coincide with March Madness...you know, bracket madness!!

brian, i'm not a fantasy racer... but without this site i would not be racing at all... so i thank you for the site and don't worry about the timing of the new shindig... you have done good !
No worries here, Brian. You've got a lot on your plate, which I believe is universally understood by all active members here. Even as is, this site has done more for the perpetuation of this >>hobby<< than anywhere else on the web. As long as the cars keep rollin', then so will we.

It's not broke now by any means so, you know, everything is good. This is a great site that has brought together people from all over the country. Not to mention South America and Australia! Well done.

Just a quick update that the hacker attack on my server did effect timelines of all my web projects but at the same time forced me into making some decisions, so the Fantasy League is on track to be back online within a week or so and then I'll look at picking a date for the first race.
I'll be contacting those of you with tracks shortly to get some updated specs and a photo. The Redline Derby site at large is getting a bit of an update because of the hack and in the mix was able to add Tracks to the league so if you hosted a Fantasy League race in the past, please post or PM me so I can get details from you.
I hope my track gets added, although I don't have a finish line. Hopefully Brian is ok with the "Camera at the finish-line for disputes" method cause at this point, It doesn't seem likely that i'll get a real finish line anytime soon.

As long as we still have racing, i'm ok with it! I'm still excited to see the new website, but there is no rush to get it finished! Lets get back to racing!
