Hot Wheels Workshop Series mail-in tournament
Friday, July 11th, 2014Hi Guys!
I've got the new track pretty well tested, so I'm ready to host my first race! I posted a thread earlier to 'test the waters' to see who has interested. But, here is the official thread.
The race is open to Hot Wheels 'Workshop' series cars, in unopened blisters. If you reply to this thread, I'll send you a PM to tell you where to send the cars. 2 cars maximum per person (but, I'm not going to stop you from entering cars from your wife/girlfriend, kids, cat, dog, 2nd cousin...whomever!). Please include your name and address and your board name (I think the Brian has a handy-dandy form on here that you can fill out)...and the cars that you are entering!
I will qualify the cars on Friday July 11th, so you need to get your cars to me by then. And I will race them on Saturday and again on Sunday (awarding 20 points for 1st, 19 for 2nd, etc...and yes, I plan to race off the cars all the way down through, be it 16, 32, or however many)...the winning car takes all (that's all the cars, just to be clear), along with some other stuff that I have laying around the studio! And I will probably have some prizes for the top three 'teams' (2 cars entered by the same person, cat, cousin, etc) as well!
My track is a 20' 7.25" (1/64 scale 1/4 mile), using Hot Wheels 2' Orange track...the starting height is 34", but I will run the start at different heights on Sat and Sun.
Thanks for your interest! If this event goes well, I plan to have another one featuring a different series. Let me know if you have any questions...Again, if you reply on this thread, I'll PM you my address.
Good Luck!
Chris

I'm in too...already have my cars picked out.
(BTW, I'm going to update your initial post with some links)
Thanks Brian!
This should be a fun event...I'm looking forward to it!
Chris
Sign Fishtail up with 2 cars, and me for 2 as well..
Should we write our names on the cards as well, or just the mail in form?
Thanks for putting this together...
No problem, TE! It will be fun!
I just sent you a PM with my address.
Milton Fox Racing is in. Mrs Fox will be sending two entries as well.
Thank goodness that Way 2 Fast I sent you isn't a Workshop car in the package, Mark!
- I have two now - one still in the package! — Milton-Fox
- But it isn't a Workshop car luckily! — KandORacing
- I learned how to de card a blister for the before and after race - maybe I can find (make) a W2F Workshop card error package... — Milton-Fox
- I'd figure it out, after all I'm the resdient error expert for RLD ;) — KandORacing
Rally case racing and weber cabin racing are in for 2 cars each. One of cooper's cars will be the 1974 Brazilian charger of course!
Hi Guys!
I'm glad to see that we already have a 16-car field filled out (20, actually, so far). I wonder if it will be a 32-car field by the time July 11th gets here!
So, it's probably safe to say that there will be more races...with different series...coming up soon!
Thanks guys!
Chris
Awesome! Now, since you are qualifying them, will the #1 qualifier get the single if there is an odd number of cars that get entered?
Hey K and O,
I think I'd rather have the bottom qualifiers try to 'race there way in'...if there are 20 cars, have #13 race #20, #14 race #19, #15 race #18 and #16 race #17. It would be like a 'last chance qualifier'...sound cool?
Chris
- So you are going to do it like an NHRA Pro Class ladder then? — KandORacing
- printable brackets do it that way for you — model40fan
- I meant the pairings: #1 vs. #32, #2vs. #31, #3 vs. #30 etc. — KandORacing
ET Racing, <-- youngest son, and Molly...our dog each plan on sending in one car to tag team this event.
Awesome! Sign K & O Racing up for two cars.
