I'd kinda like to see some movie/ TV themed cars go up against each other...

It's a beautiful day for racing here in eastern CT. Tucked in a lovely Victorian in New London, CT, FOTF Speedway is a 19' 8" Drag Tracks set up spanning 2 rooms on the 1st floor. The incline is 5' long with a 46" vertical drop at slightly less than 45 degrees. The straight away is 13' 4" with a 1' 4" transition piece. The track is home to 2 racing teams, Fastest of the Fastest (FOTF) Racing as well as Sinisterdog Racing. Cameron Daly and Tim Daly, the primary operators of the facility are members in good standing of both the Lincoln Johnny Lightning Race Club where they each serve on the race committee, as well as the Rhode Island Hot Wheels Club.

The Hall of Fame cars, but you are also permitted to modify them. Maybe give the mods a slightly higher weight limit than the stockers (and race them all together). So people could still choose weather they wanted to send mods or stockers...Maybe a stock class and a mod class. Depends on how much interest there is.

Are these the only Hall of Fame cars?
Acura HSC Concept FTE
Cadillac V-16
Ferrari 550 Maranello
Ferrari F40
Ferrari Testarossa
Nissan Skyline H/T 2000GT-X
Turbolence

...How `bout a series that only consists of plastic body/metal chassis cars?

I was wondering the same thing. Eight is not enough.

Had a few other ideas...

all-convertibles race (open top only)
all-truck race (flatbed or covered, Combat Medic would count)
all fantasy-race
all-muscle car

We like All American Muscle!!!!
Diecast Cars, Hot Wheels, Matchbox
OK, Hot Rods too! Like maybe "Old Time Drags & Rod Run"

I say we do a Heavyweight Challenge. Same rules as the Featherweight Challenge, but make it a 100 gram limit.

MUST ENTER TWO FTE AND TWO NON-FTE CARS. ONE SERIES, TWO CLASSES.
(Any car w/FTE wheels is an FTE car)
YOUR CARS MUST HAVE DIFFERENT BODIES (no two bodies alike).
STOCK OR MOD OK (IT'S MORE FUN TO MOD!).
NO EARLY REDLINE WHEELS.
CARS MUST WEIGH 100 GRAMS OR LESS.
CARS MUST BE LESS THAN 3.5” LONG.
CARS MUST BE LESS THAN 1.25” TALL.
ONLY "DRY" LUBES ARE ALLOWED.

I like the American Muscle Car race idea also. (1964 and later. Maybe a cutoff around 1987 so Grand Nationals...rear wheel drive. Would Corvettes and Cobras be permitted?)

I like the Hall of Fame Idea, but not sure we could pull it off. I have 3 of those 8. Don't know how readily available these cars and may discourage participation. I don't know.

A Funny Car race could be interesting.

I like all the ideas so far, but what about a Rat Rods tournament? I think that could be really cool too.

count me in Wpx.,
have stuffed 25 grams of lead into a '34 coupe [65 G class].... I.M.O....any more of a weight limit than that could restrict the body choices to deliveries and panels...convertibles would be too cool to go without !

We could just do a series consisting of all these ideas...
4 Cars, 2 FTE 2 Non-FTE
1 Muscle Car
1 Fantasy
1 Heavyweight
1...some other idea

Plus an idea like the Chevelle cup where everybody builds the same model car.

Choosing what cars would be the FTE/non FTE could get tricky. Building all these different cars might be a lot of work as well. At least with one Heavyweight Series with two classes. At least your building all the cars with one goal and you can enter your couple fastest cars in each class. This seems a lot more simple and gives the builders/racers more options.
