Wondering what type of wheels your cars have? Not sure what 5SP or PR5 means?

The Hot Wheels wiki has a great photo guide for wheel types with abbreviations.

So in ranking the wheels based on performance what would the top three be?  Also, is there a time when a 5SP or other wheel would be used in place of an FTE?

Good question. Outside of the nubby off road tires, I wouldn't think the wheel itself would matter. The axle should prably be the difference maker, no? What makes FTEs so fast is the nickel axles.

But maybe some of the older wheels are different plastic or something that might have some impact.

How can you tell what wheel is small, medium, and large? Are medium ones the kind on the Morris Mini?

  • I'm guessing, over the years, there have been a bunch of sizes — CrzyTrkrDude
  • depending on the "Hub" or wheel, or rim ( whatever) — CrzyTrkrDude
  • That can make us nuts trying to determine what wheel is whatever size it is. — CrzyTrkrDude
  • I've seen, same size, same wheel, be different depths even, and tire widths. narrow, skinny wiiiiide... — CrzyTrkrDude
  • not to mention, where the axle sits inside. It's kinda up to us, to guess what small, med, large is. it depends what it is from/ going on. — CrzyTrkrDude
