Overview of the tournament.

This is just a preliminary of rules and ideas.

This is a race of speed.  The race speed will be determined by a HW Digital Radar Gun.

Rules & Restrictions

There will be 2 time trials for each car.

First time trial will have 8 foot 15 degree down ramp and 6 foot flat run.

Second time trial will be a 8 foot 30 degree down ramp to a 6 foot flat run.

Also each car gets 2 attempts in each trial. The best speed is taken.

  • Weight minimum/maximum
  • 2 Race Weight Restrictions
  • Lightweight Cars must be less than 36 grams
  • Heavyweight Cars must be more than 35 grams and less than 121 grams

  • Size restrictions; length and height
  • Maximum length 3.5 inches
  • Maximum height 1.3 inches

  • Cars per entrant/household, etc. 2 cars per entry. or you just send one.

  • Any Brand, body style, year, make/model 

  • Wheel limitations, requirements; FTEs allowed

  • Must be drilled rivets
  • Dry lubes only

Address of the first host or directions on how to get that address, like a PM.

Don't forget to print an ID card with your entry

Entry deadline

TBD. All entries must be received by the host before 00/00/0000

Scoring and Winning

Describe how someone wins the tournament. Include details about scoring, points system, elimination rules, etc.

Penalties

Outline the penalties if a car fails to meet the requirements. Include any details about how a racer can get their entry fixed, adjusted, etc.

Tracks & Dates

TBD. Is this a series or single tournament? Describe how shipping will be handled between hosts, responsibilities, instructions, etc.

saw this before... minimum lenth 3.5" scared me off... new rules are much better...

I thought the Hot Wheel speedometer was infulunced by the length of the car?  So short cars (snoopy) appear faster than long cars ( Way 2 Fast) even if they are the same speed in reality.

I think this is a cool idea forming here Stroller

Just trying to understand the timing system, as I do not own one...

This does not apply any more since I am not using the HW speedometer.  It did not register consistant readings for the same car aon the same track, so I switched to the radar gun it is very accurate. I am also making a holder so it aims at exactly the same spot for every car every time.

We could probably work out a formula to adjust for car length...

I do like the idea, be moving the fastest at the end rather than getting there first...
