Mad Max Halloween Race
Saturday, October 31st, 2015We've talked and hinted about a Mad Max race but no one has proposed one or organized one yet. Which is great, allows me to design my fantasy race. These are my starting plans for a race I'll host. On Halloween. Suggestions welcome. More hosts welcome to make a series.

Rules & Restrictions:
- Max weight: None. But no "added" weight allowed. All weight must come from component car parts and whatever is holding them together (JB Weld, screws, solder, whatever).
- Entries must consist of parts from a minimum of three cars. You may make a Wasteland Monster or first movie chase car or anything really. Odd is good.
- Must fit orange HW track. 1.3 in. High, 3.25 in. Long
- No limit on # of entries.
- Any brand of cars allowed, any scale, but no FTE, color shifter, JL or chromed axles allowed.
- Drilled rivet and Stock base allowed but you still need to attach parts to get to three component cars.
- Dry lubes only.
Scoring
Don't know how I'm scoring the open track yet. Points for axles and badass will be included though.
Standard Drag will be one point for each win in first bracket. First Round Losers enter loser bracket. Winner of loser bracket gets one point and gets to race winner of winners bracket, point for winner.
Plus, one point for each additional axle over two. Plus, badass points, see below.
Bad ass points - One week prior to first race will be the fashion show. Votes for most Bad Ass Looking cars. One point for first, one half for second. One quarter for 3rd 4th and 5th.
If this becomes a series, badass and axle points are applied each race, but other than that, each host can assign race points as they like.
Random Bracket at Mo's, but future hosts can do whatever they like.

Discussion
Oh yeahhhhh, now we're talking!!!
I've been searching for and pileing up parts cars for weeks to make authentic replicas of the movie cars, but this idea will most surely hold me over until I compile the right stuff.
I LIKE IT!!
I like the idea for the multiple axles. I was wondering, will it be necessary for All the axles to touch the track and roll? Or can they be part of the bada55ness but not functional?
Will there be extra points if a trailer is part of the unbeauty contest, but might not be actually in the race( due to size/length limits??)
Sooooooo many ideas!!!
So little time!!! Lol
- Yeah, wheels half to touch the track for points, but you can have all the decorations you want for free — MoHasAFastCar
Awesome, like all the extra rules. Not required but bonus for those that go above and beyond. I've been tossing around a multi-axle tournament but you got that all included here. Guess you can never plan too far ahead!
- yeah, it'll take me three months to build!!! lol — CrzyTrkrDude
- We'll, Halloween seemed to fit with the theme. — MoHasAFastCar
- yep!! — CrzyTrkrDude
Just to clarify something...???....
Axles and wheels from a donor car maybe shouldn't count as "a part from one of three component cars" .
You are looking for examples:
BIGGER BADDER ENGINE
bazooka or other assorted weapons
Cages , ( either roll cages or prisoners)
Road scraper blade
Assorted battle position seating
Fuel tanks
Coolant systems
Extended body panels
And anything else a desperate mind can come up with in a...
MAD FREAKING MAX WORLD!!!
LOL
( actually, Hole Shot has the right idea!!)

- Hole Shot's cars are what I was going for, but if someone wants to make a more straightforward Interceptor car I'm cool with it. — MoHasAFastCar
Further idea. In addition to a straight drag race I have time to build an open Sizzler style track...something similar to CCRider's baja track but w/o sandpaper...for full contact racing. Cars that interfere with the competition encouraged :)
Put me down for entry in this race. This could be fun.
So I played around trying to make some turns for an open track and concluded more work than I care for, plus Mad Max fits a straight track pretty well. Not a lot of turns in those movies, just miles of maneuvering on an endless straight road. So I'm gonna two races about 20 ft or so. One standard on orange track with a drop and flat runout. Another on an open straight track, wood, with a constant slope over the entire 20+ ft. length, Thunder Road.
- make it 18 inches wide and run all entries at the same time an inch apart?? — CrzyTrkrDude
- smoke machine, slow mo video, multiple angles, " Chapter Doof" playing loud.... I can see it now!!! lol — CrzyTrkrDude

Yeah!
No Rules!
Just Survival!
This. Is. Gonna. Be. GREAT!!
Sounds like lots of fun. Just to make sure I understand, it doesn't have to be a model of a vehicle that appeared in one of the films. Right? So long as it is inspired by the franchise?
- Do whatcha gotta do! build what cha gotta build! rougher the better! just follow the requirements, and be sure she rolls straight and smoooo — CrzyTrkrDude
- oooth!!! have fun with it!! MOST IMPORTANT!! HAVE FUN WITH IT!! — CrzyTrkrDude
- All vehicles welcome. — MoHasAFastCar
- Got my mind racing on possibilities. Don't expect much speed, but I'll have fun making something look mean! — Finkle_and_Sons
Ya know I have just built a track that might work. It is 36ft long. Has an 18 ft single lane chase track that goes thru a 180 degree 6 inch radius turn. "a mostly sheet metal monster I built" . This then empties out onto an open track 18 ft long that's 6 or 7 cars wide. It narrows down to 3 cars wide then a single lane finish. Been testing and revising it for a couple weeks. This thing has it' share of high speed runs. close finishes and gut wrenching crashes. I have named it "Hell's Canyon" .......Stroller
What's the skinny on this event, still valid and open? Just checking to keep things updated and visible. Thanks.
"hole shot lizzotte" is wild for this race... he has had one ready to go for months...
Help with formatting welcome...uh bullet points how?
