New RLD Event Coordinator, Chris Raab

I'm happy to announce that Chris Raab - aka 72_Chevy_C10 - is the new Event Coordinator for Redline Derby Racing.

Veteran members may remember that EconoCarl was Event Coordinator several years ago, but as the site has changed and as Carl's been somewhat MIA, Chris now takes over those duties.

Chris joined the site last Spring and in a short time has brought a lot to the table in terms of mail-in race ideas, hosting, modding and all around just being involved. He's close to the action in every way and thus I felt a good choice for the role.

Chris will be keeping an eye on mail-in tournaments and other events, as well as promoting them and keeping track of things. He'll also be helping me architect new site tools and features that will hopefully bring some much needed organization to our wonderful world of diecast racing.

Since Chris has more street cred than I when it comes to modding and hosting, he's the go-to guy with questions and concerns about race events and tournaments. I'll certainly be lending my 2 cents on matters but I'll look to Chris to know what actions make the most sense. He's the Voice of the Racers, as far as I'm concerned.

With that, I'm hopeful that 2015 will be a year of good progress for RLD...and Chris will be a big help in making that happen.

WHAT??? I don't remember voting.

Just kidding. Congrats on your new position.

if I were king...and had the time...

0. Google docs..as an archive??? maybe there is a better way?

1. mail in racers database, updated and kept in a secure location

2. tournement history database, JDC covers this currently (And I appreciate the effort)  need to be updated, and more than just historical. racers can go and see what cars won, and the threads that fueled the racing.

3. Brian needs to build and race with us... ( a guy can dream)

Make it happin captian!

Thanks TE! I was honored that Brian asked me...and I'm glad to help out!

In the few conversations I've had with Brian, we've already come up with some good ideas. They will take time to develop, but it is all stuff to make the mod racing on this site cooler and even more inviting to new racers!

Stay tuned!
