Photographing your cars
There's been a lot of posts and threads lately about photographing cars and uploading them to share. I finally got around to making a blog post about how I photograph my cars. It's just one way to go about getting some decent shots, but as you all know, a quick trip around the forum here and you'll see lots of great photos.

Nice! I was going to make a lightbox for the Featherweight cars. Got together all the stuff, but didn't have a box big enough.
Here's the set up. I piece of poster board on a chair in the doorway.
Those are some nice pictures! Love the cars you featured...
Nice, dude! The box is good to have but it's more about the light. If you have good light or sunlight, you're all set...as you've shown. Nice logo tag on that photo too, I should start doing that.
Overcast days work very well for nice even light. Open shade works good on sunny days. Say, for example, If you have a garage open the garage door and put your subject in the doorway not in the sunlight but on the edge in the shadow. You get a ton of light but don't get harsh shadows.
i have taken much better pix, copied your plan, but i used cheese cloth as a light deflector, if i ever figure out posting pix i'll show the progress. thanks R.D.R.
Here is my light box. Part of our enclosed sun room. There is a wall of windows to the right that provides filtered daylight, the lamp on the left in conjunction with the reflector box when it is cloudy or night time as the second; and overhead fluorescents above the window gives a third (evening/sundown) warm light source. The built in cabinets provide another extra work bench.
Great how-to Brian.
Now let's see more pics fellas!
