Picking a car?

shadowracer Friday, 5/24/2013

Howdy all. Sorry for the dumb question but...

I just signed on for the fantasy league, and so far I've picked my winners from the brackets for this week's race. What I don't understand is the first step says pick "your" car. Can someone explain how to do that?

I seem to be not looking in the right places for the answer.

Each race has 16 cars. Only the first 16 players can pick a car that they will "drive" in that tournament. The winner gets extra points and sometimes prizes, like i did last week. Yay me! Anyway when the tournament opens grab yourself a car and you could win big time if your car wins.

Ok so its open only to the first 16 posters, and if you ARE one of those 16 then it allows the option to "pick" a car. If you're outside that 16 then it goes straight to picking the bracket winners. Have I got it right?

It's been a while since I tried but I think you're right. I don't do it early enough to have a chance at picking a car. I think there's usually a message that tells you the cars are chosen, but I could be mistaken.

Yep you have it right. Remember check time zones.

There are 16 slots in each tournament and when a tournament "Opens", players enter a car - basically selecting which cars will be in the tournament. If the car you enter wins the tournament you get a few extra bonus points (and sometimes a prize) but otherwise there's nothing special about entering a car. Players still get most of their points by picking the brackets, so entering a car in the first stage isn't really an advantage in the long run.

You can get more details, guides and scoring breakdowns under the "Help" section of the Fantasy League (top right in the menu)
