Recent game updates

Following this weekend's results, the game got a minor update that includes the following changes:

- When you make your bracket picks, clicking "More stats" will show you a more complete snapshot of the car including chassis type and a quick filter to show you car history for the current track.

- Scouting reports now cost 300 credits (they were previously free)

- Tournaments results now include a highlights summary that displays to the right of player results below the bracket. I will be asking tournament hosts to provide a short summary of races along with their results, hopefully giving everyone some insight as to how each car performed.

- Although added a "beta" page of sorts for player stats - http://www.redlinederby.com/fantasy/players.php - that will show all active players and various numbers related to their game play. This page is the first piece of a bigger puzzle as I work on integrating team play into the game. Your feedback on this page is appreciated. Since this is a bit of a trial for this page, it is not linked anywhere within the game, it's only on this post.

- Other updates cover various bugs and administration updates.

300 credits seems like a bit much... It isn't even close to being worth 300 credits. It's a feature with almost no value at all, although its nice to see where everyone elses head is at with their picks, it really has no value other then that and it doesn't actually show you all the cars. If you decided to use this for both of the tournaments on a weekend, you'd be out 600 credits. Some weekends, we have 3 tournaments and thats 900 credits. I think 150 or 200 credits would be better.

Also, that new players page is AWESOME!!!!!! Thanks Brian!

Yeah, the price for the report was more or less a shot in the dark...feedback duly noted.

And I was kind of wondering how much that scouting report is used. I'm not really tracking its use so I don't have any numbers. I'm not sure if the button for it is even in a logical location so maybe people just aren't seeing it either. Dunno.

Glad you like the player stat page. If there are any other numbers, stats, etc that anyone feels would be valuable or interesting to see on that type of page, please chime in...it's still a work in development.

Having the ability to sort by each of the columns would be the only one i'd be interested in. Then you could see who has the highest average, the most wins, etc etc.

I agree with Worpex, I won't be using it for the credits. I usually just glance at it after I do mine to see what percentage of other people are thinking the same as me but it makes no difference in how I pick.

I purchased a scouting report for WorpeX 200 (Since I already raced it and I was curious to see what people's choices are.) After closing the report, it asks me to buy it again. If I bought it once for this tournament, why would I have to buy it a second time? : /

300 credits might seem like a lot for a 'scouting report', but it might prevent it from being "over-used", IMO.

Since the scouting reports began costing credits, I've only used it very late on Saturday evening before the brackets close. Even then, I will only use it if I'm really unsure about my own choices....not that my confidence in my picks has meant anything this season.

He changed it to 150 credits, which isn't too bad anymore.
