Redline Derby of the Future

Most of you know that I'm pretty up front with new ideas, features and concepts when it comes to this web site, both the Fantasy League and beyond. The most fun part for me in all of this seeing you all use the site to have a good time chatting, sharing and playing games. It's always great seeing one of your creations succeed and grow but you also always want to make it better.

We've all done a lot over the past few years to make Redline Derby what it is today but from a technical standpoint, the site is reaching critical mass and coming to point where I can't comfortably add new things without increasing the chance of breaking something else. As with many hobby projects, you just do them for fun and never really expect them to go too far but then when they do you're left with the foundation you started with...and that's what has happened in this case. To be honest, it's a rat's nest of code that makes everything run and it's time for me to start doing things right, not only for my own sanity but so Redline Derby can grow like I want it to. The need to redo the technical side of Redline Derby gives us a great opportunity to rethink what has worked, what hasn't and what can done differently to make Redline Derby succeed.

I have some big ideas and thoughts for how to keep the web site growing and improve features for everyone that visits...from novice collectors to veteran modders and everyone in between. I want the best for the site and every person that visits but every president needs advisors...people that have some weight in helping think about additions, changes and decisions that impact the future. I've reached out to several of you, whether privately or publicly, in regards to my thoughts on how to make the site better but what I really would like is an "inner circle" of guys that don't mind listening to and thinking about new ideas I have for the site. And vice versa, I want a group of folks that have a good pulse on what's going on not only inside Redline Derby walls but outside as well and can suggest ideas and concepts.

I know some of you care a lot about Redline Derby and put a lot of effort in here...and I know there's many of you that are just passive visitors...and I want points of view from all of you.

If you're interested in being a "voice" for Redline Derby and don't mind reviewing a lot of crazy ideas and providing feedback, then you're a perfect candidate to be in the cabinet. I already have a shortlist of folks I'd like to see be part of this group but I thought it was only fair to make this open to anyone that is interested. I want to keep the group somewhat small, maybe 5 or 6 guys, and I'll be the one ultimately selecting the participants.

It doesn't matter if you've been here for years or if you just joined this year, if you want to see Redline Derby continue to succeed and play a part in helping shape things to come, please post a reply or shoot me a PM.

Diecast Cars, Hot Wheels, Matchbox I'm here if needed!

Long time supporter, so I would help as needed.

I'm off and on in the Fantasy league, but pretty active in the mail in race series and always willing to help.
