Season 4 Champion! JDC442 wins...again! Cadillac V16 retired
He did it again...JDC442 comes out on top with 2685 points to be season champ. This is Jim's second championship. If memory serves me right, he also won the Season 2 crown, the first season we picked brackets. Now that he is a multi-time champ, he will get a special trophy plate once I create it.
The champion car of Season 4 is the Cadillac V-16, which shouldn't come as much of a surprise. It was brought of retirement late in the year and showed quickly why it was retired in the first place. But now as a season champ, the V16 will be retired for good, joining the two Ferrari cars.
The rookie car of the season ended up being the Ford GT-90 after the Italia 458 lost some ratings points in the final tournament. In all, three players picked the GT-90 as their rookie and for that they each got 25 bonus points.
A big thanks to everyone that played this season. Out of all registered players, 75% submitted at least one bracket this season to earn some points. Your continued support of the fantasy league is greatly appreciated and I promise to keep trying to make it better and more fun each season.
As usual, I recorded the final tournament but I took the easy way out this year and recorded using UStream. I originally thought to stream the racing live but just opted to record it live. UStream makes it incredibly easy to record and since I hate editing video, this is what we get this time around. Man, I failed on this tournament. I didn't do any homework, otherwise I would have seen that the V16 FTE had already lost to the non-FTE version. Stupid me. The Mega Duty over the Ferrari kind of surprised me too.
Just got home from work and saw the good news! This is the first bracket pick championship for me as I won the season 1 fantasy league with the garage racing. I believe Bandeezee won season 2 and Iowastockars won season 3. Interesting results for this championship bracket, I picked perfectly on the left side but poorly on the right. I really didn't see the Mega Duty doing anything at all in the Championship, and I picked the Sooo Fast to take the Ford GT90 in the first round.
I have to admit it's pretty cool that all the champion cars were donated by Jason.

Newman39 had me real nervous near the end, he kept creeping up on me and I thought he just might pass me up in the end. Thanks for the competition!
Iowastockcars came on very strong in the end as well. I'm glad he waited until I had a good enough lead to make his run

I was hoping to make the Top 5 for the year, but never could put a string of good scores together... I'm still very proud of being ONE CHOICE away from having the first ever perfect bracket in RDR history (all I had to do was pick the car that I entered in the season opening tournament, but I went the other way...and missed my chance.)
I appreciate the work that Brian does to give us this chance to share in his enduring childhood games. (Trust me, I'd be right there if Brian set up a Rock 'Em Sock 'Em Robots league.) And it's been great getting to participate with a bunch of other fine people that make me feel less sheepish about regaining my love of diecast cars and my desire to race 'em (and not just have 'em.)
Looking forward to Season 5, where my goal will be just to stay in the Top 10 for the year. (I attribute everything from Season 4 to beginner's luck.)

I hear ya on the almost perfect bracket thing..... I still would have been off though. I missed it by two. I picked the firebird over the datsun (that one was a coin flip, lol) I almost went with the datsun, but chose american instead. Then I picked the Escalade over the Tahoe. I was sure about the Escalade winning that one, so there was no way I was getting it right.
Awesome show on the consistency JDC, I had some really bad picks here and there, lol. I'll be gunning for you next season though...

Rookie of the Year! Ford GT-90
I knew that this heavy model was going to be a contender but I
didn't notice that there were FTE's in the Rookie pile too. I was
not expecting the the Ford GT-90 to be able to beat an FTE
for the title but I did expect it to be one of the fastest non-FTE's.
