Shipping savings, wrap a USPS box

I don't know why I didn't think of it sooner but in mailing out some single cars today, it hit me that I should just take a USPS small box and wrap it with brown paper to save a few bucks.

The $5.75 flat rate is great when you actually have a lot of weight but not when it's just one or two cars. I didn't have any smaller boxes on hand so I thought what the heck...postage ended up only being $3.

Nice part is you can get bulk of the USPS boxes for free when you order from their web site. So get a bunch of small boxes, buy a $3 roll of brown shipping paper and there you go. Depending on the weight, you could save here and there...and it all adds up.

So no need to raid your cereal boxes for free cardboard - let the government help!
