Instead of multiple threads with different projects, I figured I'd make one thread. I had never cut a Hot Wheels apart before discovering this forum, thanks for the advice and ideas.

Cool. I kinda like keeping all of mine in one thread as well.

I'll be honest this car was going to be a throw a away. I bought it for the wheels, to swap to another car.... in the mean time I put a set of FTE2 axles on it just messing around. I still do not like the way it looks, but it has proven to be pretty fast on our track. So it has found a home, rescued from the Hot Wheels boneyard..

I know what you mean, your fastest car is not always your favorite. But whacha' gonna' do?!!

I think that's been of my problems. Making cars that I like as opposed to building something that has a better chance of going fast.......looking for that right combination still.

It looks like a DUB. I kinda like it. Right now I am building for looks. I need to learn to build for speed.

Bought this car and the original front axle was loose/rubbing the body....so just a wheel swap, but I needed to file on the chassis to get these wheels on. Possible paint job in the future?

Hey Traction Event,
If you're building cars to race here's a head-up, for donor wheels try finding cars with the older style FTE wheels. Like these:

They were last produced in 2011 but can still be found on pegs at some of the smaller stores. Different cars have different size and width wheels. If you have any questions just ask!

Trust me I am actively searching for FTE1's....just no luck yet.

In the mean time the FTE2 cars I have built seem ok.

latest project I have a murdered out Hell' Camino

I normally remove spoilers...but if you are going for a ProStreet look..

besides...I needed to start looking at this chassis type, rumblings of a possible challenge?
