Your Fastest 5 Cars?

In your opinion, what are the top 5 fastest hotwheels cars?

I'll go first:

5: Jaguar XK-8 - I own 3 of these cars. All 3 of them are at, or very close to being, at the top of the bracket. Sadly, all I can go off of is internal tests on this car. I don't know anyone else who actively races it! http://worpex.net/cartype.php?secondname=JAGUAR%20XK-8

4: Cadillac V-16 - Not only is the regular version wicked fast, but the FTE version is even FASTER. Sadly, I don't own one of these or else it might rank even higher in my list!

3: Silver Bullet - I know mine is super quick. I know JDC442's is incredible. The last test is to see how the official Redline Derby model is! I guess we have to wait until the end of the season, but im expecting great things from this car!

2: Ferrari F40 - This car is pure perfection. Not only is it beautiful, but its a rocket. Every single one of these that i've purchased has been fast at one point in time. Not only that, but the model is rank #3 in the Redline Derby. The only real draw back to the car is that the opening trunk seems to hit the back tires on some of the poorer made models. Still, it's easy to fix using some JB Quick!

1: Side Kick - I don't think i've ever heard anyone say that they have a slow Side Kick. In my opinion, this is one of the fastest hotwheels ever made. Mine used to be one of the top cars on my track until an unfortunate accident left its wheels a bit... bent. Still, even in poor condition this thing can perform and take wins off of other cars. A true legend.

As always, It just depends on the track and the actual car that you have.

Before I joined our club racing, pictures show that the Cadillac V-16s and Ferrari F40s ruled the racing world. Now it seems their time has passed. You see multiple cars entered now but I don't recall any making it into the top 4 over the last year+1/2 that I have been in the league. We have the red F-40, black regular V-16, yellow regular v-16, and grey regular v-16. They all have been entered multiple times and have multiple wins but never make it to the final race for the month. Look at the number of losses the F40 in Redline Derby Racing has. I wouldn't consider it one of the fastest because of that.

I have a side kick waiting to be opened but haven't yet as the few that are entered in our club track don't do wheel on our 50 footer.

After racing 100s and 100s and 100s of my cars and tracking the results, I know which of my cars are fast but that is my secret

But Im sure I will report back somewhere in November reporting on the number of trophies that we bring home and any cars that come through as the car of the year for their division=super fast on that track.

I did a huge race on my track when I built it about a year and a half ago and posted the results on this thread. My top four cars on this track were the Valentine Nitty Gritty Kitty, Dodge Demon, Heavy Chevy, and Hot Ones 57 Chevy
Diecast Cars, Hot Wheels, Matchbox

But Iowa's right, it depends on the track and the subtle differences among individual models. I've learned a lot about fast Hot Wheels by reading these threads. Iowa's racing league reports have given me some great tips as well. I try to buy the fast cars he reports on whenever I see them at flea markets and such. I also have a few secret weapons of my own that are still in the package just waiting for the right race to dominate

Well, given all the data I have. The Ferrari Testarossa has yet to be beat and the Dodge Demon is one fast car. The Land Rover has always performed. The F-40...ah heck, just check out the Hall of Fame

Funny! You turned me onto that Valentine's Day Nitty Gritty Kitty there. Saw the results from your races and got one from E-Bay...It was 9-0 on my track and then took it to the club track and won right away. They have garaged it until November.

Cadillac V-16 (with Bling wheels) is even faster than the FTE Caddy. That's one of my fastest. My cousin has a really fast Retro-Active. I had a Retro-Active, but it wasn't as fast as his. His must have some nice straight wheels. I've also bought a few Testarossa's and it got to the final in my family's race (50' track), but lost to my cousin's Valentine's Day Cadillac V-16 (with Bling Wheels). It was a 2-1 victory though and I think the Testarossa would have one the majority of the time if they kept racing. It beat the V-16 by a longer margin. I bought a couple of the Nitty Kitty Gritty Valentine's Day cars. It won a couple of rounds, but got knocked out kind of early.

Like everyone is saying though, it depends on the track. For one, we race on BluTrack. I have one strip of Red, White, and Blue Hot Wheels track, but I need another 50' strip before I can start building the Hot Wheels race track that I want. Until then I will continue to use the BluTrack or if Jason ever comes out with that new track, maybe I can use that instead. When we set up the BluTrack though, it tends to have a short drop and a long straight away (probably about 80% straight away). So, cars with good wheels tend to do better for us.

The Valentine NG Kitty is a bit on the narrow side so the wider Blutrack isn't the best track to race it on.
Martin~ sounds like you're planning to make a two lane 50' seamless. I cut my 50' seamless in half so I could race right away. Not sure where I would set up a 2 lane 50 footer if I had another roll anyway. Hope you're able to find another 50 foot red, white and blue soon. I'd like to see you get your track up and running. It would be nice to have the 50 foot track to be able to test cars for when the fantasy league races on tracks that long.

Yeah same I have a super fast retro-active and I've been disappointed with the one in the fantasy league, mine took second in a family tournament this summer losing to an FTE. I also have a really quick Dodge Concept Car, another one in the fantasy league that hasnt race up to my expectations.

5. Nomadder What
4. Dodge Charger R/T
3. 1992 Mustang
2. 2010 Ford Mustang GT FTE
1. Ferrari Italia FTE (naturally)

Interesting choices! My Nomadder What is stellar also and my Dodge Charger R/T used to be very quick at one point as well, but it has since been beat up to much to even be race-able.

Sadly, I have to disagree with the Dodge Concept Car being quick though. I have a few of them and two are in my league but neither are any good (http://worpex.net/cartype.php?secondnam ... CEPT%20CAR). Haven't tried the Retroactive out, but I might pick one up one day. Of course, the two FTE's are also great on my track as well!

Considering that I've only had the opportunity to test 18 different cars with single-lane rolling tests on 15ft of orange track...if I had to pick only 5 to race on a 2-lane drag strip , it would be these...

5. `70s Van (Hot Ones repro)
4. `40s Woody (Connect Cars ~ "California")
3. Ferrari 458 Italia (fte)
2. El Rey Special (Hot Ones repro)
1. Fast FeLion (Track Stars)

My Fast FeLion seems to 'track' and maintain speed remarkably well for being such a light, narrow car. The Ferrari & El Rey probably equal it in speed, but displayed more lateral oscillations in my tests. My 'Super Van' & 'Cali Woody' are simply super-smooth running, 'monsters of momentum'...(lol).
