Climb To Iron

About the event:
Climb To Iron will be the marquee event for the Rush Racing League. This is where we will allow almost any casting in with a good amount of room for modding. This is our first official race on Redline Derby. We have done a few events using Facebook, but a few drivers have asked for us to start posting on Redline for their stats and more exposure.

I have a lot of new people racing with me, so that’s why you may see so much detail in the rules. Trying to help them as much as I can.

Everything you need to know is below, and if you have any questions at all, feel free to ask here in the comments or message me directly. Please take note of how we do the points. This is a point system we are passionate about, and we want to start off with how we plan on running all points events.

Rules & restrictions

• Stock and modified entries allowed
• 60g maximum weight
• 3.25in. long x 2in. tall x 1.25in. wide
• Limit 1 entries per person
• Black plastic wheels only
• Smoothing the wheels with light sanding is allowed, but wheel coning is not.
• No Custom Axles allowed
• Retail/Stock Axles FTE/NPA allowed.
• FTE - Faster Than Ever
• NPA - Nickel Plated Axles
• Any secret sauce is allowed - however if the car shows up dripping wet it will be disqualified.
• Cars: Any car genre can be used - Based on real cars only.
• No Trucks/vans/SUV’s, no concept cars, no HW fantasy vehicles.
• 1/64th size and must fit in the standard Hot Wheels Orange track.
• Body: Stock Painted cars are allowed, but you will need your race number on the side of the car.
• Custom painted cars are very encouraged
• No inappropriate images on car.
• Painted/Tinted windows are allowed. Please paint the inside of your windows.
• Chassis sanding for a flatter bottom is allowed.
• Minor wheel well trimming is allowed, just for clearances, not bigger wheels.
• Body and chassis must match their lines.
• No outside weights allowed.
• All weights must be contained inside the body

Dates & deadlines

All entries must be received by the host before Saturday, 5/2/2026. Racing is scheduled for Saturday, 5/9/2026. Results will be posted on or after that date as is convenient for the host. 

ALL ENTRIES NEED TO BE AT THE TRACK BY MAY 3RD 2026. Anything after that, will be returned immediately.

Entry Fee is $10
Return your car is $10
Total = $20

If you are shipping internationally send an extra $10 if you want your car back.
If I don’t get money for shipping, I’ll assume you don’t want your car back. It will then become apart of The RRL stable for future races, give a ways, background.

Track: Old Rte 49

This is a super basic layout, and will be short racing. It may get bigger as I build, but it won’t be a massive track. I’m working on it as we go. These are old pictures, excuse the mess, but it’s winter and very cold so everything gets smooshed into the garage and projects are every where.

Race format and scoring:
Bracket seeding will be random draw to start
I don’t have a timer system yet for qualifying.
We will be going to photo finishes/slow motion If needed for a clear winner call.
Winners with the most points win.

I haven’t decided if one or two cars will advance to the next round. Depending on entries I guess will be the deciding factor on that.

Points:
1st - 6
2nd - 5
3rd - 4
4th - 3

Penalty Points:
If you finish Backwards -1
If you finish on anything other than your wheels -2
If you block a competitor from finishing -3
DNF = 0

Prizes

Top three only will get a prize pack!
I am looking at Trophies/Plaques as well, but may just be prizes.
