Garden Canyon Run Spring Classic

Cars received from Diego's Diecast, and they look like fast rollers! It's been raining most of the weekend here so I'm running  a bit behind on things, I might not get to posting a track update/mail haul video for a couple more days, FYI.

The party has started! We've received almost enough cars to run a 32 car tournament! Thanks all of you who've sent in cars and been in touch. Really appreciate your support. I've tried to be clear and provide a bunch of good info, but I realize I've left some things possibly unclear. 1 thing, I do not have a paypal account. I got rid of it years ago after a big hassle with them and I'm loathe to use them again. I do use the CASH app, so if you use that I can accept your payment that way for shipping. I can also look into VENMO too. I also don't mind spending a little bit of money to get your cars back to you, just not all of you. I did get cash from some of you and you know who you are, thanks.

This weekend, as in tomorrow, I'll actually finish the track and start filming qualification, and I'll figure out finally how the stockers compare to the modders on this new track. Thanks again for your support friends!

Brief update: I ran Qualification this weekend for all 31 cars! It was super fun, and the track is performing well, though it's a treacherous course for sure! Lighter stock cars are really getting thrown around. Deciding to run stockers and modders together I think is going to be great, and awarding double points to stockers, at least so far, seems to be leveling the playing field at just the right amount to keep the two different classes of cars competitive with each other.

I can't wait to share the first video with y'all! I think I should have it posted before this coming weekend. Fingers crossed!

Hey gang, Group 1 Qualification video is going up tonight, probably close to 8 or 9PM West Coast time in the US. It's absolute mayhem! We're going in order from lightest to heaviest, so it's the lilghtest 8 stockers up first, pictured above. We'll see if double points can keep them competitive on this absolutely treacherous course! Stay tuned folks!

Good morning, just a quick uupdate here. As of now the CRASHFEST that is the Spring Classic is live through Qualification group 3. I plan to have group 4 up hopefully tomorrow by the end of the day. Then I'll post a BONUS round where everycar has 1 run in what has turned out to be the preferred start lane. I think that's going to be an un-narrated lightning round, bing-bam-boom and done. Then we will move on to the elimination brackets with the top 16 cars from qualification. I'm going to not run the 4UP racing round, I'd rather spend a bit of extra time trying to get the track better tuned for a good 2Up elimination round than rush through a poor 4Up round.

I also have a couple new camera positions I'll be trying out!

Hey, good morning everybody. UPDATE: we had a couple setbacks in the household here, one involving an actual ER visit, everyone is fine, but it has delayed my schedule. I obviously didn't get group 4 posted yesterday, I likely won't today either. I'm shooting for tomorrow by EOD US west coast time. Sorry for the delay!

A lightning quick bonus round should follow very shortly thereafter. Then I have some track improvements to finish and we can get on to some head to head racing!

Hey gang, Elimination Bracket Group 1 is uploading now as I type this. Should be live in another 30 mins. You'll see Team 2nd Floor, Rust Belt Racing, and Banana Rex in some head-to-head action. With a newly tweaked Painter's Tape Gully.

Hi race fans, I thought it time for a little update. The Spring Classic is posted through Elimination Group 3 at this time. Group 4, the final group, should be live by Saturday morning. Already filmed, is a SECOND CHANCE lightning round where I gave every car that was eliminated in Qualifying, one more chance. I seeded everyone by Qualifying points, and ran them head-to-head, one run only, to determine 1 car that will be allowed to challenge whoever comes out of the Elimination brackets as the champion. Because I love second chances!

Also, more continual tweaking has gotten the track in pretty good shape, I think you'll all be pleased with the racing action from that 2nd Chance lightning round forward. Still plenty of mayhem, but much more actual racing than crashing. Well, still a lot of crashing. All the stuff I love to watch!

Hey gang! So, a couple things. The aforementioned 2nd Chance round for all the cars eliminated during qualification will air after we've determined our final four cars in the tournament proper. So tomorrow I should haev Round 2, groups 1&2 up, then groups 3&4 Sunday, determining the Final 4. Then we'll show the 2nd Chance round. There's still hope for some of you!

But my favorite thing to announce is we invested in a new camera, a Hero 7 Black, which we will put to use for the Championship! Sharper images are coming! And the track keeps getting better and better. With the nice Spring weather I can leave it up which is quite beneficial to performance.

Hey gang, UPDATE time: The 2nd Chance Tourney is going live in another 45 mins or so. This is all of the cars, mostly modified ones (so hey modders, this one is for you!) who were eliminated right out of the gate at Qualification. One of you is going to win this and get a chance at the whole enchilada! A few things to note for those of you following along:

It was filmed over 2 different days. In between the track had a very successful tweaking session as you'll see on the later runs.

Also, I lost camera two during the semi finals if you maybe noticed. I've replaced camera 1 with an upgrade which you'll see in the 2nd Chance video. But there isn't any camera 2 footage, the low footage showing cars screaming toward the camera out of turn 3. That will come during the championship, the next video.

Lastly, at the end of the 2nd Chance Tourney, I screwed up completely and moved the wrong car forward to the last round. I'll make up for that with a grudge race for the Championship opener. My apologies!

Thanks everyone, with more cars arriving than I ever expected, this has been a good couple weeks longer than I expected. But I appreciate all of you who sent in cars and have been following along. It all culminates in just one more video race fans!

Man, things have been busy, and technical issues galore have kept me from gettting the final, Championship race vide up, but IT IS COMING! I'll be spending the weekend wrapping it up, and it should be the best of the lot, a proper culmination of all that's lead up to it. It's the Spring Classic and the Championship should be live by Monday, if not sooner.

The Spring Classic is in the books, and it was an adventure! I don't want to give away spoilers, but one thing I'll say is here are all the cars who made it to the end of the track and on the finish straight. 9 of 31 cars are all that could make it to the end of the most dangerous track in the PNW!

I hope y'all enjoyed the progress from barely usable track to one that actually runs pretty well now I think. I'll be making an announcement soon for the SUMMER CLASSIC, and I'm really looking forward to that.
