Race format and scoring

For this Firegone FIREBALL I will be balancing the points awarded to make each Track Event as equally weighted as possible.  The previous event was heavy weighted on the Meal Ticket Raceway Event.  I will also have the Drivers rotate starting positions on all 6 lanes rather than just 3 at Meal Ticket Raceway.

Pre-Race:

All car will be wieghed and photoed at Snow Valley East and run down the track individually to determine their best Lap Time.  Cars will be ranked from fastest to slowest.  Cars will be divided up into 3 Groups.

  • Group 1 - 1st, 4th, 7th, & 10th
  • Group 2 - 2nd, 5th, 8th & 11th
  • Group 3 - 3rd, 6th, 9th & 12th

The Two Road Courses:

Drivers will run in Groups of 4 with rotating starting positions and points awarded for 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th.

  • 1st - 50 points, 2nd - 30 points, 3rd - 20 points, 4th - 10 points

For 4 Laps (with rotating start postitions), that is a total of 440 points (or a possible 200 points for all 1st place finishes).

After the 1st Road Couse Event the 3 Groups are re-formed based on current points totals.

The Endurance Event:

This is the Meal Ticket Raceway Event.  At this track there is 3 finish lines and the track is 6 lanes wide.  The 1st is Drag Race, 2nd is Endurance, and 3rd is Efficiency.  Drivers will be re-grouped into two Groups based on current points totals.  Drivers will rotate starting positions on all 6 lanes for a total of 6 laps.

  • Drag Race: 1st - 6th, 9 – 7 – 6 – 5 – 4 – 3
  • Endurance: 1st - 6th, 9 – 7 – 6 – 5 – 4 – 3
  • Efficiency: 1st - 6th, 18 – 14 – 12 – 10 – 8 – 6 (double points)

For 6 Laps (with rotating start positions), that is a total of 816 points (or a possible 216 points for all 1st place finishes).

The FINAL:

The Top 5 Drivers (based on total points earned) move on to the Final at Meal Ticket Raceway.  They will be joined by Officer Lejeune.  If you finish behind Officer Lejeune you don't earn the points.  Try to stay ahead of the Police.

TOTAL Event Points: 2,440

Penalties/DNF

Cars are given a grace of 1g over the stated weight limit to account for variance in scales.

If a car fails to meet any of the restrictions listed above, the car will not qualify for victory. Offending cars will still race. Finish position and any prize will go to the runner-up in the case of the penalty car winning.

Cars that fail to run or fit on the track, or that happen to break during racing, will forfeit their matches. Cars that arrive broken will attempt to be minimally repaired before the racing begins. Cars that break during racing will not be repaired or replaced.

Prizes

1st Place wins a Custom LED Hot Wheels car by HWG Diecast

All Drivers earn points which will be translated into prizes in the form of an Amazon Gift Card.

  • Nice choice of car and track. I will put you down for consideration depending on the response that I get on the inviations. Thanks — MarcusFiregone

We got an invite!

U_U will be glad to send a driver for this series. Driver to be determined, there will be a race between U_U members to see who has what it takes to take on the world's best supercar drivers.

Would like to be considered if a spot is free.
