Sorry for the late start. I moved my track to the porch for better lighting and more room. I took pics of bracket and the win to get in round races but have had nothing but problems trying to get them loaded. The Images.im site keeps saying no image was downloaded. I tried photobucket, but can't get the images there either. I'm afraid there won't be any pics, sorry.

Anyway, the track length is 16 feet. Starting gate is at 44". First section is 48" at about a 45 degree angle, going into another 48" at about a 20 degree angle, finally into the flat 8 ft. straight. The finish gate is the Hotwheels electronic 6 lane, and I'm using the two center lanes.

Win-to-get-in round. Have to win two consecutive races.
#7 Sloppy vs. K&O
#7 Sloppy's takes it in two, by 1-1/2 and by 1-1/4 lengths.

#21 Delta 6 vs #3 Holeshot
#3 Holeshot wins in two, by 1-1/2 and then by 2 lengths.

#19 Fishtail vs #5 Traction Event
#19 Fishtail, but it takes 16 races to get the back-to-back wins. Most races were won by a fender with the biggest gap being a half car length. Started to think it would never end.

#18 Rally Case vs #10 Milton Fox
#18 Rally Case takes it in five. Close racing again. 4 out of the 5 were by a half car length & one by a nose.

#4 Fast Fred vs #8 Dadvball
#4 Fast Fred get the victory in two, by 3/4 and 1/2 car lengths.

#14 Stroller vs #12 Nightstalker
So far, the biggest and closest battle of the night. I thought I would have to send out for pizza. Going with the have to win 2 in a row, this thing went 30 races! Largest margin of victory was 3/4 car length. Nine by a nose with the rest being 1/4 to 1/2 car lengths.
#24 Stroller wins races 29 and 30 for the victory.
(nothing personal, but I hope there aren't any more like this lol)

#23 Holeshot vs #9 Dadvball.
#9 Dadvball takes it in two, by 1 and then 2 car lengths.

Next up, round two.

Round 2

#11 Milton Fox vs #13 Nightstalker
#13 Stalker takes it in three, winning by 1/2 car length.

#15 Stroller vs #7 Sloppy
#7 Sloppy wins in two, by 1 and by 1/2.

#26 Sloppy vs #3 Holeshot
Another battle. Biggest margin of victory was a half car length. 20 races. (you guys are killing me lol)
#26 Sloppy finally gets the win.

#19 Fishtail vs. #17 K & O Racing
#19 wins in two, by 4 and then 3 car lengths.

#6 Traction Event vs #18 Rally Case
#6 Traction Event moves on in two, winning by 1 and then 1/2 car length.

#4 Fast Fred vs #22 Delta 6
#4 Fast Fred scores two wins, 1/2 car and then by a nose.

#20 Fishtail vs #14 Stroller
#20 Fishtail takes it in two, barely winning both by a wheel.

#9 Dadvball vs #24 Fast Fred
This one goes 11 races before #9 Dadvball finally takes two, winning by 1/4 and 1/2 car lengths.

Moving on to round three.

Round 3

#7 Sloppy vs #13 Nightstalker
This one goes 11 back and forth (typical of the night) races, anywhere from 1/2 to 3/4 car lengths, before #7 Sloppy finally pulls away for the win.

#26 Sloppy vs #19 Fishtail
$19 Fishtail takes the last 2 of the five races, winning by a nose and then a fender.

#6 Traction Event vs #4 Fast Fred
#6 Traction Event wasted little time in Scoobydooing FF by 1-1/2 and then 1 car lengths.

#20 Fishtail vs #9 Dadvball
Another 11 run race, no margin bigger than a half car length. #20 Fishtail swims to victory lane.
Actually, I think he was flipping saltwater in Tin Louie's eyes & he just couldn't see where he was going.

End of round 3.

Round 4

#7 Sloppy vs #19 Fishtail
Another back and forth battle, this one going 13 races before the #19 Fishtail escapes upstream to the finish line.

#6 Traction Event vs. #20 Fishtail
#6 Traction Event reels in the Fish by taking the last two races in a four race set.

So, the battle continues.

Finals

Just so I wouldn't forget, I ran the 3rd/4th place race first.

#7 Sloppy vs #20 Fishtail
This one also goes 11 races with #7 Sloppy finally grabbing the daily double for the win.

Dadvball Dragway Championship Race
#19 Fishtail vs #6 Traction Event.
Another epic race, lasting 17 races. Almost all the margins of victory were by a half car length.
#6 Traction Event finally squeaked out the victory winning the last two races by 3/4 and then 1/4 car lengths.

Congrats #6 Traction Event on the Victory!

Diecast Cars, Hot Wheels, Matchbox

Congrats also to the runnerups as well as everyone that participated. These were some of the closest races I've seen and the sweetest looking cars. Thanks for letting me host. I am sorry that I wasn't able to get the pics to load. I will try again later to at least get the finished bracket up.

1st Place - #6 Traction Event
2nd Place - #19 Fishtail
3rd Place - #7 Sloppy Jalopy
4th Place - #20 Fishtail

Final bracket
Diecast Cars, Hot Wheels, Matchbox

super race hostmanship dadvbal...
congrats to TE... againnnnnnnnnnn...
I count 177 passes, too much like work... not fair to the host...
.
maybe we ought to run two outa 3... example ; having the lowest car # start in lane 1...
each host flips a coin to determine which lane gets the lowest #s... swap that every round...
we ought to get pre-set brackets from a random pairings site...then no host has to feel responsible for who gets the fast lane...
the series coordinator picks 5 of the random brackets, then assigns a bracket sheet to each heet...
so no host is left trying not to show favoritism when pairing the cars or starting lanes...
... if the bracket says #6 vs. #23, low # in lane 2, then so be it...
just like real racing....

I dont know the actually details for real racing, but thought that process was what we where already doing?

Are the real racing protocols the same everywhere?

If we need a simple solution just put the car numbers in a hat and pair them down the bracket as they are drawn(?)

Congratulations Traction Event on a well earned race. Very nice descriptive, and fun race coverage by DadvBall one of the best, but most amazing was I actually won a race!!! Yay Stroller!

Thanks guys. Yes, there was a lot of passes to find winners, but it was fun 'cause I just love racing these little toys cars (or in this case, works of art) down the track. I decided on the two consecutive wins before I started the race and then I realized one lane was a little faster than the other. The tricky part was having to win in the slower lane and trying to keep it fair. I think most of us keep track of how much each winning car wins by, like a bumper/nose/fender/1/2 car length. What do you think about setting a limit on passes, say 10 passes? That way each car runs in both lanes 5 times. If it's still tie, the car that won by the bigger margin in his 5 wins would be the winner. Just a thought.
Maybe I should have just left my track in the basement. The lanes seemed a little more even there.

To set the brackets, I took the lower numbered car from each racer and drew numbers. Then I made sure nobody was racing against somebody they already raced in the first round at the other tracks. Because of the number of entrees there would have to be 2 people running a second car to fill the first round. So I drew one, Holeshot, and then just put my second car in. For the most part I reversed the order for Sunday's racing, starting with the higher number car. It won't be a problem there because it will be one and done.

Great coverage and play by play...sounds like you had some marathon racing on your hands. But a job well done sticking it out till someone won two in a row...the way it's be done since we all started.

Fishtail knocked my 55 out early...and pounded through the field to a well earned 2nd and 2nd in the points...That caddy must have a 502 Big Block!!! This kid is finding his stride...

POINTS!!!!
