quarter window filed into the correct shape, rear of the door top and upper b pillar filed to create a square corner [5 window coupe], 3 window's curved upper door seam filed away ;
3 and 5 window coupes ;
stripped, the new Kmart release has deeper / taller details [roof insert, etc.] ;

Alright is that a Rat Rod....not quite understanding the criteria?....
IMO. a rat rod is mostly fit and finish, choice of added [missing] parts, paint, etc....
as far as the '34 coupes...I just like to see what I can do with this casting...
I would say it is! But I would call it an 'old school' style. The latest builds I have been seeing, are usually left as un-repaired or painted bodies. Patched with old signs, bare sheet metal, plywood, etc and either bare rust or clear coated to preserve the patina! Dont have a gear shifter - this beer tap will do!

hood top removed, note the step cut into the upper firewall, [correct] ;
hacksaw grooves to remove the hood overlapping the cowl ;
run the hacksaw grooves over the cowl top an down the upper hood side ;
hood top FILED away ;
3/4 of the gastank cover removed [hacksaw] ;
remove the rear bumper, ['40 shown, '34 fell into a leaf pile] ;
inner structure between the rear fenders removed ;
spreu, the rack that holds model kit parts, cut as a rear mounted moon tank ;
tank has not been trimmed to desired lenth, just to fit ;
hot rodded hot wheels ;
looks like a totally different hot rod ;
couple hours and about a buck !
grey, sandable, primer/ filler, covered with 3 coats of DUPLICOLOR METALCAST PURPLE ;
