Right now it looks like Season 5 of the Fantasy League will open on Sunday, June 5. The first tournaments will open for entry then with results posted the following Saturday.

What to expect this season

The biggest change for Season 5 will be a prize for the season winner. The player with the most points at the end of the season will win a special diecast display custom made by your forum friend JDC442, as well as some Redline swag and diecast freebies. If you haven't checked out Jim's site of displays, please do and if you like what you see, he is always taking orders. Head over to http://carlson442.wordpress.com and see his work. Good stuff.

One other major addition to the league will be a mobile version, allowing you to play from any modern, web-capable smartphone, like an iPhone or Android. The mobile version doesn't have all the bells and whistles as the standard version, but you'll be able to enter cars, submit brackets and browse The Lot right from your phone.

Promo codes will also be updated a bit and offer more than just Fantasy League points. Some codes will now unlock Redline Derby swag as well as free Hot Wheels stuff, so keep your eye out for more codes in Season 5.

There will also be a good helping of new cars added prior to opening day. I have a couple dozen cars purchased and Jason graciously donated another dozen or more, so there is a lot to pick from. I probably won't add all the new cars to this season and save some for Season 6, but I promise there will be some new contenders in Season 5.

What not to expect

Otherwise, don't expect many changes in Season 5 from Season 4. The Rookie Picks is being removed but other than that there will be no new features added for this season. The Nashville convention is the following weekend so having one set of tournaments will hopefully help draw in some new players. There won't be any new achievements added this time around and the core game will remain the same.

Your support is appreciated

As always, your support of the Fantasy League is greatly appreciated. June will be a huge chance to get Redline Derby more exposure and I have confidence we will gain some new players and new diecast friends here in the forum. If all goes well, Season 6 will see a few new additions to the league overall that should up the challenge for veterans while keeping things fun and simple for others.

If you have any questions or thoughts, please comment or shoot me a PM. Thanks.

Looking forward to it. I definitely do want to see that van on the track though, lol.

Bryan got to check it out at the hangar, I think he'll remember it
