'Frankenstein style' Gasser Mash-Up Modified Monstrosities... Oh My!

Rules & restrictions

• Modified entries only (Custom paint and decals with 'Halloween Theme' encouraged for 'Best In Show'!)
• Any Mainline Hot Wheels stock 'Gasser Chassis' must be used, but MUST have a different body than came on the original casting. Super Cars, exotics, vans, pickup trucks, boats, creatures, food, Fantasy castings... Get Freaky & Creative! 
• Height and front end 'Rake' should remain stock to look like a gasser, but not jump starting gate pins.
• 80g maximum weight
• 3.25in. long x 1-5/8in. tall x 1.25in. wide
• Limit 1 entry per household
• Retail axles and wheels only. FTE/NPA axles allowed.
• Any size retail 'Hot Wheels' wheels front & rear!
• Any Lube
• IMPORTANT RULE: Overall build height MUST NOT Exceed 1-5/8" (4.128 cm) due to start/finish gate restrictions!
• NO MASH-UP BUILDS WITH OTHER CHASSIS!!!
• BODIES Not Allowed: '64 Nova Wagon, Volvo P1800, '55 Chevy, '62 Vette, '41 Willys, Passin' Gasser/'36 Ford, '63 Nova, '65 Mercury Comet Cyclone, Cruise Bruiser, etc.

Dates & deadlines

All entries must be received by the host before Friday, 10/31/2025. Racing is scheduled for Saturday, 11/1/2025. Results will be posted on or after that date as is convenient for the host.

How to enter (No limit or cutoff on total entries!)

Limit 1 entry per household but I'll race as many cars as I receive, so spread the word!

Entry Fee is $5.00 per car. Please include at least $10 for return shipping* if you want your entries back. Entries not getting returned will be kept as a gift by the host for use in future events or as the host sees fit.

*I WOULD LIKE TO HOLD ALL ENTRIES UNTIL THE END OF THE 'HOT NUTS DIECAST' 2025 RACING SEASON. YOU WILL ONLY NEED TO PAY RETURN SHIPPING ALONG WITH YOUR FIRST RACE ENTRY, AS I WILL KEEP A RECORD OF THOSE WHO HAVE PAID. THEREFORE, IF YOU ENTER ANOTHER RACE LATER IN THE YEAR YOU WILL ONLY BE REQUIRED TO PAY THE ENTRY FEE.

I will be hosting multiple races in 2025, so those who enter each race and agree, ALL OF Your Cars will be shipped back at one time in December 2025 with the exception of the winning cars and trophies. Those will be shipped back along with additional prizes immediately after the race event.

I am going to use this new return policy as more of a 'disclaimer' or agreement than a hard fast 'rule'. I will always be willing to make exceptions with proper communication privately.

Race format and scoring

This will be a seeded, single elimination bracket with 'seed' based on received order of entry rather than a qualifying time. Each round will consist of single elimination racing with the best time after swapping lanes moving on. Racing will continue until we reach a final four fastest entries, and those entries will be placed in the bracket as it works out.

The car that wins the final race with the best time after four races will be declared the winner. Race host has final decision in all races.

Penalties/DNF

Cars are given a grace of 1g over the stated weight limit to account for variance in scales.

If a car fails to meet any of the restrictions listed above, the car will not qualify for victory. Offending cars will still race. Finish position and any prize will go to the runner-up in the case of the penalty car winning.

Cars that fail to run or fit on the track, or that happen to break during racing, will forfeit their matches. Cars that arrive broken will attempt to be minimally repaired before the racing begins. Cars that break during racing will not be repaired or replaced.

There will be a 'Best In Show' voting and a separate prize for the winner!
