Cabin Raceway - Track Build
Hi Gang,
Work has started in the cabin in the back garden to build "Cabin Raceway".
Some exctiing news that I received an email from Majorette today and they will be sponsoring the circuit and allowing me full use of their logo and brand. I will also be working with them to promote new models as they come out.
I am also in contact with Slanman Customs who will be the track provider and this is proving invaluable as we design the circuit together.
I thought it would be a good idea to journal the build from start to finish.

A question someone posed to me - Why are you not bringing the track down to the floor for more elevation etc.?
Very simple, a knee replacement and a back issue from past sport injuries and working in the police means that if I have the base that level, when I come to "filming" it doesn't take a toll on me bending or shifting too much. Yes, I will lose a bit of elevation, but I can work that out for my own comfort.

I have often said of track design "build according to how you can film," I'll have to add the corollary ". . .and how far you can reach" Hosting is work enough without your own body complaining
- 100% and also finances, ease, and to be honest make it fun for me and that is all I am doing this track for. If others also like it then great. I have to say and echo this, the email I received from Majorette today was phenomenal, not just the permission to use their trademark but also offering to send me cars and promotions for the track.
The latter of offering to send me cars, I never even wanted or asked for that, it was quite humbling.
Outstanding service, not just saying that because of their promotional input or my desire to help promote them, but the initial emails and enquiries were just so positive and inspiring.
And, of course, Slanman Customs who has been on the end of the phone with my unedited updates, ideas and questions and has been an absolute legend in shaping this design and circuit. Quality replies, great conversations and that has made the work more fun for me.
To all of you, whether it was with the Diecast Racing News, yes I will have a new post going on soon (track build took over on my week off) or this project, thank you. Your logos you have sent me to promote you will be on the track 100% - not even a sniff of paying to advertise - not my bag, I am very much of share the love around the community.

This blog is to compliment the You Tube channel with any reports, news or updates.
Race Build - Part 2 is now on the You Tube channel.
This is just to get an idea of the track layout, pay no attention to turn ratios or elevation, this was just so I could see with my eye the layout whilst I talk things through with Slanman Customs.

Well you have motivated me to blow my April allowance on a few Majorette cars or maybe a multi pack Hmmmmm
- Haha - word of warning the "Collection" series cars are heavier and have rubber wheels, also the 1985 Chevy Camaro wheels do not turn easily. These are produced on plastic plinths and not meant for "racing" to be fair, but I will be changing the wheels and axles when I get a chance. Great looking cars for show though. — Simmo
- Oh yeah, I’ve checked out their offerings on Amazon and at the majorette site. I can see they are all show and not go. But I’m curious as to their quality and variety as a collector. So I’ll pick up a few and check them out, might see if I can make one go. — AbbyNormal
A little update on the Majorette conversations.
I received this the other day (yes, my first name is Neil haha). Which was quite humbling. Brand Ambassador!! - No pressure then haha.

I don't share this as a "boast" or a "look at me" comment, or even to get a round of applause, that is not my gig, but rather harking back to when I asked for permission for content logos to be shared, because if I am going on this little adventure, I will be dragging you fabulous people kicking and screaming with me and I am more than happy to put logos and advertising boards all over the circuit to promote your content, race team, set-ups.
I just want to thank you all, by the way, whether that is the Diecast News stuff or my own little circuit adventure. You're all bloody great human beings.

- That's great! A coupleof years ago Majorette Australasia asked for input. I did so in a constructive way, asking could they please have a small range of cars for people like us. Cars that have quality round, and drilled centrally wheels, using the non tread wheels they have on some cars already. When you are cooking your Sunday dinner, but the Race Cabin is calling from the back garden.
(the grid section at the back is being turned into a garden bar - hence the decking on the path and the sitting area up against my cabin is the "hospitality area" haha)
