Customizing: Modding
buddy's grandson is a hot rod junkie, [8 yrs.], loves gramps '33 3 window coupe.. made him this for xmas...
Has anyone drilled out a Hot Wheels Redline Club car yet. I have a couple and I kinda wanted to know if they have a straight axel inside them before I crack one open.
Hey all, I am completely new to this scene and hoping to get some help. I don't do derbies so this is all for local play and show with my kids. Here it is:
I have a hot wheels Toyota Supra (fast and furious edition) and I'm looking to mod it. I saw one on eBay a while ago and the seller had removed the roof and made it a convertible like the movie. I couldn't buy it in time so I want to do it myself. How exactly do I do that and what am I going to need to make it happen? ANY assistance would be a great help. I'd love to impress my boys and gain the experience to help them mod their own. Thanks everyone.

I would say if you had a hacksaw and a few metal files you could mod just about any car...but a Drimel tool would be the real machine to have. JMO

I second that. I bought a 20 dollar two speed dremel tool at Wal Mart and have cut, chopped and grind-ed lots and lots of hot wheels. It would be a lot more work without one. I know because one of the first customs I build I built I hogged out the inside with a drill and it took a long long time.
Thanks for the responses taste and preacher. I had looked at a dremel before but didn't get it. Guess I should have. It has so many applications in the hobby world. I will pick one up when I can and try this thing out. I will snap some pics so maybe y'all can see my success.......or failure, lols.
welcome aboard...
you may not want to derby race, but after a few living-room eliminations the little rascals will want to see what their creations can do... we'll be here...I bought a dremal early spring, but I have yet to plug it in... hacksaw and files rock...
...see you in lane two !...
