DragonFire mobile raceway loaded up for its maiden event
Looks awesome. I've been dreaming about something like this. I always set a track up at the swap meet for people to run. That is where the name Travelers comes from. Good luck pioneer 264 at $2 a pop sounds great.
- Thank you. Having a lot of fun with this track and it’s kinda cool to hear from locals when they find a car/casting that they feel might do well on it. — ChiefWopahoo
If anyone here would happen to be located in the West Central Ohio area and would like to test the Dragon, stop by the Moose Lodge Urbana Car Show on Saturday, July 19th. where we'll be holding a Rip n Race Challenge. Be sure to mention that you're a Redline Derby member. Info and details in the graphic.
Had the pleasure of setting up my diecast booth directly across from Bruno's Dragon Fire Track, so naturally as a diecast racing enthusiast I spent half my day entering cars to race! My top contender, the Shadow Jet was a real threat but was ultimately edged out after holding down 1st place for a while! This was an awesom experience and glad I became good friends with Bruno and other members of Mid Ohio Diecast! I'll be back in action in at their next event trying to claim the Top Spot!
Just for fun yesterday I ran a test session of over 100 cars/castings on the DragonFire Raceway. Most of the cars were in unopened blisters. A pair of Shadow Jets that I picked up at a local flea market earlier in the day owned the track taking the top 2 positions along with being the only cars to break 7 seconds. Several were ran but the Formula Solars and Torpedos that dominated the last race were back markers at this session - no idea why. Here are the results for the Top 25 and a glamor shot of the Top 5.

Here are a few pics from a Rip n Race we held during a local car show recently. Along with our regular racers we were able to introduce the hobby to quite a few folks, and we hope to see them at future events and of course, on this page.
As for the actual racing the winner took home a high-end custom and the title of two-time Track Champ on the DragonFire Raceway. The casting that won was a Shadow Jet but the surprise performer of the day was the good 'ol Duck n Go. It screamed in placing just behind the S Jet by less that a feather width and it's likely the first time a duck has ever defeated a Dragon. For the longest time another Shadow Jet held the fastest time at 6.660, a number everyone wanted to be beaten. Luckily the winning car ran a 6.637 to erase the devils digits.
Next up is a Rip n Race during the Sept 28th Marysville Toy Show. I've ordered a second crossover section for the track so it'll be interesting to see what that does to the average times.
