It's time to re-open Freedom Dragway and take on some fast cars on the all-new Spool Heads 1/8th mile dragstrip. The track is wide, short and very fast, and who does not like fast drag racing? I will take up to 32 entries to see who can qualify for the 16-car field.

99g maximum weight
3.25in. long x 2in. tall x 1.25in. wide
Limit 1 entries per household
Original retail axles and wheels only.
Your choice (no dripping)
Out of the package stock with your choice of lubrication

Dates & deadlines

All entries must be received by the host before Saturday, 6/1/2025. Racing is scheduled for Saturday, 6/14/2025. Results will be posted on or after that date as is convenient for the host.

Be sure to include $10 for return shipping. Cars without proper funding will be sent to the event winner.

Include at least $10 for return shipping if you want your entries back. Entries not getting returned will be given to the winner as part of the prize.

Include a Race Entry ID slip with your entry

Track

10-foot, spool heads, 3d printed dual lane straights, and Slanman start gate and finish line.

Race format and scoring

Up to 32 cars will compete for 16 spots, and those 16 will race off for the win. Each car gets one run in each lane, with the fastest overall car for each race moving on to the next round. Racing will continue until one winner and runner-up are found. From the 16 car field, seeding will be determined with the same rules as an NHRA event. This should produce some fast and close racing.

Penalties/DNF

Cars are given a grace of 1g over the stated weight limit to account for scale variance.

If a car fails to meet any of the abovementioned restrictions, the car will not race

Cars that fail to run or fit on the track or that happen to break during racing will forfeit their matches. Cars that arrive damaged will attempt to be minimally repaired before the racing begins. Cars that break during racing will not be repaired or replaced.
