FTEs on a '55 bel-air gasser's base

FTEs are made in various widths, some are just narrower than the bel-air's rear axle mount... I file the slotted trapiziodal bosses flush with the base... I like at least 1/32" side play, half that on each side...[shims]...
I drilled a j.b.quick rivet hole under each axle, duct taped the bottom surface so the j.b.quick doesn't drip... used about a 2 BB size glob of j.b. ... keep it close to center as the interior's "axle slotted body supports" should slide over the axles on the outsides of the j.b. glob...helps keep the body aligned...

note the floor is removed from behind the front seat to the rear wheel wells, you can paint the body, glue in glass, grill and rear valance pans... with the body done, you can add FTEs and glue the weight in from the hole in the floor when you are ready [looks great while you wait] ;
