well now Im not sure... Could be .056. Its a 56 guage sting anyways

If your "guitar" suspension plays Dueling Banjos it will surely send chills down the spines of the other drivers! [Deliverance, 1972]
— GravityThrottleRacing
That creepy dude... oh man! That a full throttle thought to get to the bottom of the track...lol
— Beaverworx
Do I need another gal in the bed with bow and arrows for protection?

Was waiting to see one of these Fancied up, Sweet paint and the Rims are the Bomb!

1995 Chevy 1500. No name yet, but she's got a plastic body on metal base, weighs 51g, and her suspension is made from a sparkplug gap measure. I'm really happy with how she turned out and I can't wait to watch her race. It's going to be tough though, that track is a nail biter.
I made the off road track and was amazed how terrible the monster trucks do stock, so now I wanna mod some of those too, so many ideas, so little time to do them...lol

Originally built a MBX Ruff Trek Holden ute with standard suspension but the 5yr old nephew found it, had a play and now it's down a long drain pipe into the local creek....gone forever.?And with slow postage from NZ to the US, I panicked, and threw some plastic wheels on a HW Boulevard mini ute/pick-up. At least it'll look good leaving the start gate?
I’d have sent him down the pipe after it…lol
— Crazy_Canuck
I agree with CC, like, it's not your son! ;)
— G_ForceRacing
Hahaha! you guys, at least put a rope around his ankle to get him back.
— Bent_Rod_Racing
We need a trained ferret, wonder how many cars are in drainpipes?
— dr_dodge
D'oh. Man. I remember being 5, dropping all of my Hot Wheels down a storm drain, and fully believed they'd drive back home to me. Spoiler: They didn't. Maybe yours will. :)
— FeralPatrick
Bummer, those Holdens are hard to find, and now even harder for you! Good luck
— CutRock_R_Marc_D
After reading all these comments I've gone out and bought some rope, olive oil and a magnet: he will be placed head first, at a gentle 200mph of course, into the storm drain! Cheers for the ideas lads

Used an old Matchbox leaf spring for the suspension. She's a$$ heavy 40-60 but under 50g. Made a mockup of the scrambler with coroplast and it seems to run pretty straight. Like many others, we'll just have to see once it's on the track if it works or not. :)
Here you can see I had to add weight underneath because it's a tall car:
Hope to race you guys soon, I'm an alternate so, if luck is on my side then, here we go! I'll post right before I send it with the decals on.
I also had to replace the old axles and wheels because it was bent and also because they were offroad tires, so they were slow. I also had to clip off the little plastic drivetrain molded into the plastic.
Looking like a great build even without the decals! As you know, it's not required to show up by Jan 31st but things might work out.
— GravityThrottleRacing
I am an alternate, too at this point, it's a waiting game...lol
— dr_dodge
The wheels are the narrow gray plastic knobby tires that were on the stock casting, so I wouldn't think these would be considered 'fantasy wheels'... I'll let Mark make the call on it, and if need be I will swap them
— CraigsterSr
Yes, knobby tire cool but I think color is the issue... I can make them black, no problem...
— CraigsterSr
Than You Everyone for the input and kind words... Best of Luck to All of my fellow Builders!
— CraigsterSr
That's wild, looks like something at Dakar! Nice work!
— G_ForceRacing
Hey Craigster! Very nice set up. I see the conversation about the wheels. If you could make them black that would be preferable. The picture makes them appear more blue than gray.
— GravityThrottleRacing
My decals didn't arrive in time for the first Are You Truckin' tournament but here's my entry with the decals for the second competition:
This is the first time I've worked with water-slide decals so that's the reason why it looks crappy lol :). also, since my car is dark I asked Josh at rust belt customs to print the lightest gray posible for the background so you could actually se the number.
Canuk is right! Now I can print "white" numbers on clear background decals, & put on a dark paint job. Sometimes I may have to do 2-3 over each other so they're a nice solid "white" :) YAY!

Braverworx Entry
- HotWheels Toyota Offroad - Matchbox wheels
