Just came across this from HWC.

Looks interesting as I also collect racing cards.

I like this. My girlfriend bought me a pack recently and I thought they were pretty cool. I first instinct was to buy a bunch more packs, but I'm having to change my spending habits now that I'm going to become a father

As the father of three and a wife in school, I understand completely. They do look pretty cool though.

I is very easy to get caught up with the 'gotta have them all' mentality
when it comes to collecting Hot Wheels merchandise. It doesn't take
long to figure out that there is just too much stuff to collect unless
you are infinitely wealthy.

I pretty much stick to just the cars but I do buy track stuff for the business.
As for the trading cards, I will buy a couple packs for gits and shiggles to
check them out but I will absolutely not be collecting them all. If I find out
that there is a card of a model that I like to collect, or one that has
red, white and blue graphics, then I hope to run across that one at the
Conventions or shows.

I stick with cars too. I'm too cheap and have too many other hobbies to get sucked into buying other stuff. A dollar is pretty much my limit to spend on any Hot Wheels car, unless I'm doing some dissection for a feature or something. And before I started racing and the league, I kept it strictly to buying cars I like - which is why there are so many muscle cars in my collection. Now that I'm trying to find faster and faster cars, my scope has expanded but I still keep myself to mainline cars.
