Race format and scoring

This will be a single-elimination one on one tournament. A car will move on in the bracket only when it wins two races in a row. Cars will alternate lanes between each race.

The car that wins the final race will be declared the winner. Race host has final decision in all races.

Bracket seeding will be random.

Penalties/DNF

Cars are given a grace of 1g over the stated weight limit to account for variance in scales.

If a car fails to meet any of the restrictions listed above, the car will not qualify for victory. Offending cars will still race. Finish position and any prize will go to the runner-up in the case of the penalty car winning.

Cars that fail to run or fit on the track, or that happen to break during racing, will forfeit their matches. Cars that arrive broken will attempt to be minimally repaired before the racing begins. Cars that break during racing will not be repaired or replaced.

Good Morning!  I would like to send a car into your race.  I have a Nissan Skyline from the 2006 mainlines, for which I guessed would fit the description of what JDM means.  Supposedly they are Japanese Domestic cars with a steering wheel on the right?  I haven't pulled my car out yet to see.

I looked up JDM and EVO here on RLD, but did not find a definitive description of what these cars are.  I then used Google and asked "What are Hot Wheels JDM cars" and got the description above.  I then asked for EVO cars, and that gave me cars that have gone through previous builds over the years and are still being 'evolutinized' each year.  So an EVO car would be a car that per the example I saw mostly was the Mitsubishi Lancer.  I didn't see a full list of manufacturers or models, but I thinik I can understand the part about being reproduced yearly with enhancements for the year given to the car.

Do I have the descrpition right on the JDM and EVO cars?  If the Skyline won't work, I have a few different Honda Civics that I can choose from; barring they are not an EVO car. :-)

If it was a race for Mustangs, Indy Cars, Trucks, Fantasy Toilet Cars, or even a Muscle Car from the 60's Only; I got this!  But as I look at some of the discussions here and see races announced, I am not up to speed on the 'lingo' that may be so common place with the rest of the world.

  • The Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution aka Evo is a very popular modding car — ManiacMotorsports
  • Let's see this topic here...maybe is some ignorance from my side on the actual meaning for JDM but when I refer to it I mean brands on the Japanese market what I'm saying is that is an event for brands from that part of the world and I'm even willing to accept korean ones since those are in the market, that's why I included Subaru for the event, regardless which side the steering wheel is it doesn't matter, and for the EVO term it refers to the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution , I'm not accepting those cause I'm actually hosting an event in progress specifically for those vehicles so no Mitsubishi Lancer EVO of any year will be allowed. I hope that this clears up any doubts you may have , thanks for the comment. — Marco_Polo
  • Thank you for the explanation, this part is still new to me. — RacerGnome
  • In short, "JDM" is any Japanese-built ar, such as a Toyota/Nissan, Subaru, Mitsubishi, etc, "Evo" refers directly to the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution, a very popular car for modding. — SpyDude

Sounds like fun. I'd like a spot.
