JumpX
As you all know my "track" is going to take a while and DRN is keeping me very much occupied.
However, with my 34 stock cars just gathering dust I am going to host "JumpX". To begin with I'm just going to use my home-based cars and see how it goes (there will be videos on the Gauntlet Series YouTube channel) and if it works and is fun I'll look at opening up.
The work is underway on the ramp, with the landing zone currently being constructed separately. I have the logos for JumpX on their way today. More to come on this as it develops.
Thanks
Simmo

Good start......you are busy on the diecast world these days .
- I work from home most of the time and kicking my heels where I couldn't build track, but just wanted to use my cars for something. — DiecastRacingNews
Very neat!
Promo is out.
Looks like it really coming along great!
I like this one a lot. Reminds me of the 4th of July in Alaska videos.
- Hopefully some cars will look like that mid-air, testing is positive. I'm going to run a few "home" events with my cars and then look at opening it up for others if they wish. — DiecastRacingNews
Interesting to see how this develops - you might look into coroplast as you can make the track as wide or narrow as needed, Video below is by SpoolHeads
- Spookily, I have actually watched that. After testing with the thick cardboard I had, it just bounced on the ramp. So last night I went full thin ply, a couple of grooves notched in and my side barriers are up (quite wide to give some flexibility) to keep the cars straight to the exit. — DiecastRacingNews
I would say, just to be on the cautious side, not to run any open-wheel cars. The chance of bending an axle is greater. Otherwise, everything looks great so far!
- Yes, would cause carnage. I don't have any open wheeled cars in the garage but a great point well made. — DiecastRacingNews
Well, it is finished, apart from some decorations going up and my wife bought some chequered flag material to put as a side-curtain to the ramp (she is into her crafts and jewellery making).
I'll get it uploaded to the track directory as soon as I can.
Pit Bay is finished and is now in the track directory:

Underneath "the ramp" I am going to create a paddock and pit crew area as time moves on, maybe an entertainments area and maybe get a van from "Diecast Racing News" on there :).

- Looking awesome, great work! I like the dynamic of the gap on the right side of the track. — Sunshine_City_Garage
- Yeah, last minute addition. Adds a bit of jeopardy. — DiecastRacingNews
Beaverworx used to do a cool rock drop jump series, which was a very steep and short launch and you go toints for distance and landing on your wheels. Was quite entertaining
- Yes, doing the points for distance but also bonus points such as: (i) Land and Plant perfectly, (ii) Become stationery on all 4 wheels, (iii) any part of the car touching the white square, (iv) any part of the car touching the circle and I have The Stig in the pit or "Stig Stigsson" as we call him at Pit Bay and if you knock him over you get bonus points too. — DiecastRacingNews
- He's known as... The Stig. — Sunshine_City_Garage
- There are those who believe when he breathes the air freezes. Some comment how he can drive the 24 Hours of Le Mans, on his own with no sleep whilst others feel his presence when he is not there. All we know is, he's called The Stig. — DiecastRacingNews
- the rock challenge at beaverworx looked like a cut up plastic gutter with pea gravel, always thought that was a cool idea — dr_dodge
- Oof, the past tense "used to do" cut deep, I'm a big fan of his. Last I heard, the track had to come down to access a plumbing repair issue in the home. All four of his tracks bring something fun and different!! — Chris_Hood
- wondered what happened, waitin' on my IPG team to come home, but figured I'd give him time — dr_dodge

Cool idea a "ski jump" for cars. Something like Top Gear sending the rocket powered car down a ski jump. Say, that gives me an idea... looks like you're off to a good start.
