NASCAR any generation race
Room for a Flocko Tribute driver? I'm in for 1 but you must return my monkey figure. ( Do you use figures?) #91 please.
- I do some I will send it back — Victorfastlane
- Beautiful hand paint job! — CanesBart
- Looks great — Victorfastlane
Room for one more? We have multiple projects going! Trying to get more experience!
Does it have to be an actual NASCAR competitor? Or can it be a Nascar car with our own number, etc?
- As long as you make it look like one — Victorfastlane
- Thanks, we will, if you got room. In for two — CanesBart
- Is it blasphemy to repaint Earnharts 86 monte carlo into a #30 Red Roof Inn? :0 — CanesBart
I think I can get you a couple on time.
#24 and #14 if possible
Got room for a couple more?
What a cool theme! I see lots of folks here coming up with beautiful cars! I like it a lot!
Two 2002 NASCAR Tauruses are loaded up and heading for the track. I had planned for a different paint scheme on each car but it didn't work out for this race. Unfortunately the paint and clear coat didn't play nice either so it's a little wrinkly.. but that just makes it easier to strip and repaint them after they come home.
My two entries for the 60's+2 are also loaded up to make one trip. You can send them all back at one time after the 60's+2 Muscle Cars event and save on postage.
- Very nice! — Dutch_Clutch_Racing
- Thank you! Did you notice my joke on the back of each car? Dale Jarrett’s UPS Taurus said “WHAT CAN BROWN DO FOR YOU?” so I added two letters and it says, “WHAT CAN BROWNIE DO FOR YOU?” and she’s driving the 51 car (Brown number on the roof and brown / yellow stripes are a hint at the paint job I had planned. I’ll try it again when they come back. I’ve got a vision in my head but couldn’t make it work in time for the race. I wasn’t sure how these Racing Champions cars were going to perform but after adding some weight and graphite, they were moving pretty nicely. I doubt they’ll advance beyond the first run but somebody has to be last. :-) — Billys_Midway_Racing
- Clever! — Dutch_Clutch_Racing
- They look good! I have come to loath 2X paint for the very reason you state. I have had terrible interactions with everything with that stuff. I don't know what you used, but I am not buying it any more. I have settled on Tamiya Primer and automotive 2K clear coat. — Stoopid_Fish_Racing
- This was Testors model paint but Minwax clear coat from a rattle can. I usually use an airbrush but was trying to get a quick, thin coat of clear and didn't think it would affect the Testors paint after a month of drying time. I pretty much stopped painting model trains when they cancelled Floquil Railroad Colors paint and forced the water based paint on the hobby. I'd spend a dozen hours on detailing and surface prep just to have the water based paint glob, spit and clog. At least with Diecast cars, most of the bodies are metal instead of plastic. — Billys_Midway_Racing
- agreed... this water based stuff is hard to deal with... I keep trying but have to strip so often it is getting tiresome. — Stoopid_Fish_Racing
On their way!
Count me in for 2!
