New web site coming Wednesday

I've been migrating data and re-writing some of the blog posts that get search traffic, and I think I'm ready to flip the switch. Mostly I'm just anxious to get this thing out there and tired of you guys having to wait.

So I'm looking at Tuesday night (4/29) as the flip date. Tuesday night probably around 9p ET, the front doors will be shut while I switch everything over. If all goes well, when you visit on Wednesday afternoon you should see the new web site. If not, then you know something went wrong.

What to expect Wednesday (assuming it all works)

- Everything will be different. The new site was built from the ground up to be what I felt can best suit the current and future RLD community. Change is difficult and there will be a small learning curve but just like anything else, after a few times you'll get it.

- All current members will need to reset their password. This is for security purposes. There will be a link on the login page where you enter your email address and will then receive an email with a link. That link will reset your password.

- Your private messages will be gone. I was not able to migrate private messages so your new PM inbox will be empty. If there's any messages you need saved, do so before Tuesday night.

- You'll need to re-upload your user picture. Once you login you can upload a new avatar image that will appear next to your name.

- Topics and posts may have weird text. Unfortunately the migration process is not 100% so there may be some posts that have weird forum code and broken links. There will be a long period of spot-fixing posts like this. Please report any bugs or problems you see.

- There will be problems. Even though we went through a beta testing period, there will always be problems with a new launch. I ask that everyone please be patient while I fix any issues...however, I can only fix issues if I'm made aware of them. Please report any bugs or problems you have by email, PM or there will be a dedicated post.

As many of you have seen over the past 5 years, Redline Derby is constantly evolving based on your feedback and that's not going to change. More updates are coming including a new Fantasy League...but all in good time, I am but one. Just please keep an open mind and an open mouth - send me your feedback - and I know we'll all grow with the new site just as we did with the old site.
