Piston Junction WMD Invitational Season 2024

I learned a lot making this video - and an unwillingness to post shitty footage is why I only have 5 cars in this batch, rather than the ten I intended.

I will do them this weekend and continue onward from there.

The Bronze, Lisa R.N., Feral Patrick, Officer unFriendly, The Count, James Ironbeard. Dani McNuggs, End Count, Triple B, Hoyt Coxley, Bobby Jo Vanderbuilt IV, Pinky Tuscadero, Moon Slug, Buffalo Jones, Lady Apothica Death and Ra Sungod all try to get down the Piston Junction Switchback today!

You will notice the racing gets a lot smoother and better in places - thats because I am constantly learning and refining, and figuring out the best way to do things with my set up. 

I found a program that lets me control all my cameras from my laptop, so I can now trigger them simultaniously, which its just so much easier than filming continiously and trying to find the 6 second bursts in a 45 minute video to edit. 

I'm learning about the camera angles and how to best use my gimble - and some best practices for voice work and editing. I used a small sound dampening enclosure on the microphone, made from acoustic foam and duct tape. It worked very nicely, though I should punch up the vocal gain a bit next time. 

I didn't have -time- to do all the voice work or transitions I wanted to do, so I focused on the first few races to practice, then I busted ass to keep my promise of finishing group one and getting group two out today.

The youngest driver in the WMD, Harry of Essex Boys Racing, asked me to add some weapons and armor to his landscaping truck. 

Your wish is my command, Harry. 

It was the dark of the moon, But it felt like high noon,

When the count came shambling down.

And they aimed to take the town. 

But ol Darq wasn't slow,

And in no uncertain terms,

Showed no blade back to its sheath.

I want in 

I want to appologize for, and own the delay on this event. 

I am learning everything from the ground up - and that includes the organization behind the scenes. 

My personal life reared up and I was sick for a while. This put me behind schedule. 

Several people have sent in replacement cars, or simply got in late. I am not going to turn people away, but the inventory and tracking got away from me.

I spent today giving every car a UID and painting it on the bottom of each car. I now I understand why people are required to claim unique numbers at the start of a race and have them on the car. 

Below is a link to the current spreadsheet and standings. If your car is NOT on the Time Trials tab, then I do not have your car in inventory. This is something you should bring up to me immediately. 

Can the owner of the Memphis Outlaws team please contact me. Your cars are lovely, but I have no documentation that tells me who -you- are.
