Really looking for an opportunity...

Hey SCG, Big C here with the LRL. For the time, the Bull of the Woods series we have going on, is on hold, but will be starting back up at the conclusion of our truck series. We have no limits on the number of cars, so feel free send one in for it. I have it closed for the moment, just to put a pause on the entries till I mail back most of the trucks. Look us up on Facebook as well, as that's where we give a heads up on the races coming up. It's a great hobby and some really good people in it. Feel free to PM me also if you have any questions.

Well, Once I Build a New Track, Just Sign Up & Check The Calendar... But... I've Got a Blizzard Bash Tournament Coming Up, & The Number 12th Slot is Yours...

Make good relationships with other racers who happen to be on Facebook. Many times I've had hosts and fellow racers message me as soon as a race has posted or even just beforehand. Find a good network of communication with other racers and you'll be in the know.

I probably check RLD multiple times a day to see what's new and upcoming...there are all manner of ways to keep up to date with what's going on...and at times it can be down right overwhelming...but keep RLD bookmarked and you can't go wrong

  • You are right about that crazy canuck. I was pleasantly surprised at the huge response I got from this post. Thank you for your comments as well! — Sunshine_City_Garage

Well with all the responses I figured I'd throw my 2 cents in.
Looks like your getting the idea of how to find races and the community here is awsome.  Take a little time and read the forums. A lot of great tips and tricks to  be had.
I've been at it for a little over a year now and so far have only won 1 race at Jungle falls with a resident car I sent for Jason to keep and run.
I've managed a few podium finishes at other tracks and some of the first cars I sent haven't even races yet.
Don't get discouraged. It's a huge learning curve.
Try new things and find out what works and doesn't work. I'm almost embarrassed when some of my cars do badly. Especially with my first builds.
But I'm constantly trying new things and my cars are getting more competitive all the time. (Well most of the time anyway)

above all test test and test some more. There's a lot more to it besides graphite and weight.
Welcome to the most expensive cheap hobby known to man!!
Hit me up any time if you have questions and I'll help out if I can

  • Thanks for the good advice, Ricky. I think that will be the next step, learning some tricks to go faster. I also play miniature wargames and fish occasionally, so this hobby is downright inexpensive! — Sunshine_City_Garage
  • This hobby can get expensive in a hurry if you’re not careful. I thought the same thing when I first started building cars. You find out real quick that you’re always in need of a tool, car, wheels, paint, something you don’t have. — Dog_Squab_Racing
  • it's not the cars, it's the track, cameras, and time that cost the most...lol — dr_dodge
  • Dr Dodge. Just building a track takes a lot of I’m getting there slowly. Cameras etc. well that’s another story. Then I’ll need to learn how to edit — RaginRicky
  • just make sure to enjoy the ride...lol — dr_dodge
