Ridiculous Racing League | Hot Wheels Obstacle Tournament [XR] [FULL]

When I 3D printed Dwayne the Duck Johnson, I knew I had found my calling in life.

To gather grown adults from around the world, the spend ridiculous amounts of money building and shipping diecast cars - to smash into ridiculous things.

Whatever else I can think of. I did an obstacle tournament before. This is bigger. Crazier. Anything goes.

You will build any car or truck. Add things to the front (like a snow plough) to help smash those obstacles (if you want). Everyone qualifies.

The winner will be crowned the KING OF CHAOS. Other challengers can come forward to take the title.

Rules & restrictions

• Stock and modified entries allowed
• 65g maximum weight
• 4inch. long (incl. any attachments) x 2in. tall x 1.25in. wide
• Be aware of the sharp turn chicanes that we have
• Each team may enter up to 2 vehicles 
• Retail axles and wheels only. FTE/NPA axles allowed.
• Any lube, as long as it doesn't leak over the track
• Cars/trucks only. Hot wheels or Match Box. Fantasy cars allowed (this was changed after initially not allowing it, as several people dropped out, and I needed to make up the numbers)
• You can add small (up to 2CM) objects to the front to help smash obstacles out the way. ANYTHING. As long as it doesn't damage the track. This is optional but encouraged. Stick a 3D printed face of the Rock to the front if you really want. I'm starting to sound obsessed with the Rock - this tournament really isn't about the Rock.. 
• Think about the chaotic theme when you do your paint/livery. Maybe do something silly, maybe do something apocoaliptic, maybe take it very seriously. Stand out. Be creative! 

Dates & deadlines

All entries must be received by the host before Friday, 6/12/2026. Racing is scheduled for Friday, 6/19/2026. Results will be posted on or after that date as is convenient for the host.

The event will start sooner, if I have enough cars. It doesn't matter if you are a bit late. The flexible format allows for it. This is a fairly relaxed, on-going format. 

How to enter

Contact the tournament host to get the shipping address for entry. I am based in the UK - its expensive to ship. If you need to pull out - that's fine but please tell me.

DO NOT INCLUDE RETURN SHIPPING MONEY. If you want your vehicle back I will have to let you know the cost after, and you can pay via Paypal.

Track

This is our Spool Heads Grampian Mountains track. See our YouTube channel. 1:55 double lane, going into 100MM open track with a jump, and two chicanes.

Race format and scoring

Each car you enter will take part in at least once race event, representing your team. EVERYONE qualifies and will take part.

ROUND 1 

Fixed set of obstacles used throughout.

20 cars entered after some drop outs. 5 groups of 4. 

• All first place racers will go through
• The remaining three spots will be decided in the following order to settle any draws: Most points, most first place laps, fastest lap time .

ROUND 2 

Obstacle set changes and get's tougher!

2 x groups of 4. The two racers with the most points will proceed to the final. Draws will be settled in the following order: fastest lap, most first place laps.

ROUND 3 - FINAL

The racer with the most point will win and take the KING OF CHAOS title. Draws will be settled in the following order: fastest lap, most first place laps.

POINTS

• 1 point per check point that you pass (including the finish)
• 4 bonus points for first place 
• 2 bonus for second place finish (if applicable)
• 1 bonus for third place finish (if applicable)

KING OF CHAOS

People can challenge the KING OF CHAOS in the future. The KING OF CHAOS will need to keep their vehicles here (or can swap them out next time we call for challengers). 

Penalties/DNF

Cars are given a grace of 1g over the stated weight limit to account for variance in scales.

If a car fails to meet any of the restrictions listed above, the car will not qualify for victory. Offending cars may still race at the discretion of the host, depending on the severity of the violation.

Cars that fail to run or fit on the track, or that happen to break during racing, will forfeit their matches. Cars that arrive broken will attempt to be minimally repaired before the racing begins. Cars that break during racing will not be repaired or replaced.
