Race format and scoring
This will be a single-elimination tournament. A car will move on in the bracket only when it wins two races in a row. Cars will alternate lanes between each race.
The car that wins the final race will be declared the winner. Race host has final decision in all races.
Bracket seeding will be random.
Penalties/DNF
Cars are given a grace of 1g over the stated weight limit to account for variance in scales.
If a car fails to meet any of the restrictions listed above, the car will not qualify for victory. Offending cars will still race. Finish position and any prize will go to the runner-up in the case of the penalty car winning.
Cars that fail to run or fit on the track, or that happen to break during racing, will forfeit their matches. Cars that arrive broken will attempt to be minimally repaired before the racing begins. Cars that break during racing will not be repaired or replaced.
Prizes
Handmade first and second place trophies lead bottom bases for all participants and return process will start the week after Christmas. Thank you for your participation
Discussion
I would like to enter, to be clear: Is it for WAGONS, or is it for STATION WAGONS?
I have both, but want to be sure. If it is a Wagon; can I add a driver?
- Station wagon, please — Baddad
- #2 you are in Thanks for signing up — Baddad
- Okay, I will pull out a Station Wagon and prepare for the race. — RacerGnome
- Received — Baddad
Okay, I log in tonight and I see pictures are back. With that, your race announcement now shows pictures of Station Wagons. :-) Makes it funny and if I would have seen the pictures in the original posting, I wouldn't have had to ask the silly question: "Is this for WAGONS, or Station Wagons?". <lol>
I had pulled a '70 Chevelle SS Wagon (2009 New Models), and when I went to check on details for the race, happened to catch that it was for years of 2020-2025 product. :-(
Okay, I went searching in my stuff and found a Drift'n Break (HW Wagons) from the 2024 Let's Race set; so I have a new car to work on.
BTW, I ordered the Axle Alignment Jig the other day and awaiting it's arrival, received the lead tape the other day, and of course; I found my Dremel. I am almost ready to modify my first car.
One Question: I ordered up some 'axle tubing' just in case; when you put down "Retail axles and wheels only. FTE/NPA axles allowed", Does that mean we can use the 'axle sleeve'?
Remember, haven't torn apart a car physically yet, so am not sure up close with my eyes to know what it is I will find. I only ordered the tubing since I was in the shopping mode for these little things.
Sorry for the questions, but I don't want to get it wrong. I don't even want to experiment with graphites/oils/lubes/silicones or any of that stuff yet. I am still wondering about polish I am going to use. <lol>
- Yes, a drifting break is a good one — Baddad
- Axle question it is a open rule you can do what you want — Baddad
- It does say "Retail axles and wheels only" in the listed rules however — Dutch_Clutch_Racing
- DCR you are right we are working on the rule clarification he is just as new to this as I am and will be per the standard rule — Baddad
- It's a learning curve....you're doing great. — Dutch_Clutch_Racing
