Lots of empty pegs in this area so today I opened one of my old dusty shoeboxes.

I have a spreadsheet where I put all of my cars into so I will know what I got.  As I finish this last batch up, I ran across these 3 this morning.

#1) Since I like to put in the Car Make in my spreadsheet, I couldn't tell if this toilet was a Kohler or an American Standard.  I see no indications of it being an imported Japanese Toto Toilet. :-)

#2) When a fantasy race comes up, are these type of cars allowed where it has 6 wheels?  I know I can ask the host when the time comes, but was curious if others have raced these rigs with 6 wheels.

#3) Same type of issue with this car and only having a single wheel in the back.  I have not torn them open yet so unaware of how fast they may or may not go, but was wondering if others have modified them and sent them down the track in some race event.

As I go through the last of the collection in the tote, I noticed many of these are from the 1998 First Edition series.  Hard to believe these cars are new in packages from over 25 years ago.  A few I have seen even have a Walmart 97 Cent sticker on them.  Fun to go through.  Only a couple of hundred more and all of my cars will be in the spreadsheet, and then I can put them in my new storage racks.

so here's a heads up for those who swear they just need a few more cars. Down below you see two Formula One packs. The pack on the left I got at a Wallgreens pathetic toy display right after Thanksgiving. The pack on the right I got today at a CVS pharmacy in their pathetic toy display.

plans are for the one on the left to be used in a race off, and the one on the right will be a prize pack. My other plan is to visit a few more pharmacies.

  • At a Walgreens!!! My best finds are actually at my Albertsons grocery store…I feel like I’m on of the only guys looking through them! — ABC_Allred_Family

Visiting the Oregon coast for a week and dropped by a big box store that serves a couple of communities. They don't get the pressure of scalpers like in the metro areas. Didn't have much time but all of these cars were just sitting on the pegs right up front. They had 5 or 6 dump bins of holiday leftovers. Never got to those.

Found on ebay in a lot of 20 cars.  The other 18 cars were nothing to write home about, but these two, especially the green one...

I will be restoring the Ferrari and customizing the Lincoln.

  • In the bottom picture just under the wheel at the top left is a little lever to raise the headlights and it still works. Car was made in 1969. — Sunshine_City_Garage

My wife needed four lemons for her dinner plans so if I went to our local store a Safeway. Of course I checked their hot wheels display and they had just put up a fresh case I guess. I couldn't pass these up. Got the lemons got some goodies and left.

  • That Porsche wins a lot of races over here. Good car. — alva1370

They had 2 different cars, I should've bought the 2nd one too. And since I got the car, had to get the figure (Double G Diecast) and paint it up. There is a documentary on Netfix or prime on Big Ed Roth. If anyone has seen it let everyone know. And which platform.

This isn't a new find, does it still count? Let's test the old people here. SpyDude should get it. That's the only hint.

  • Man from uncle car? Only saw it in black and white TV. Will check the internet to be sure it's not from the Saint TV show. — Object52
  • Found it in the 1969 Sears Christmas catalog. Crimebuster car set from Corgi. Had this car, a batmobile with boat and trailer, and an Astin Martin with working ejection seat! — Object52
