ok, seriously...after viewing this thread I might never build another roadster, rod, or custom. These are great...hard to top, or improve on.

I agree! Awesome stuff, all of them. But my favorites are the rods. Very cool!

Might I ask what you use to narrow the width of the tires? Tall narrow skinnies on the rear of your hot rods look great.

i use a coping saw, only cut a 1/4" to 3/8" slot then move around the tire, cut another slot, move -cut, move -cut, then connect the dots [slots], if you continue with one cut it tends to walk... the slots become sidewalls help like a [miter saw] when you connect the slots... be careful ... when it looks like you are removing 1/4 of the width, with blade width and tooth set you pretty much cut it in half...any more than that and the tiny flat spots on all tires where the injection moulding's ports were create a flat spot on the tire, taking 1/2 leaves a little bit of round tire on each side of the spot ...fine file the cut suface till uniform width...spin, check to see if it rolls back just after it stops, that area that gravity pulled down is heavier, file there..file a bevel all round....[remember the spots, don't over do the beveled edge] sorry T.M.I.

converting a '34 ford 3 window into a '34 ford 5 window ; door top squared off, body and a prick punch, hole drilled & window whittled, primered, green engine paint on a torn end of a book match [paper] as a paint brush... the paint works as body filler... if you paint the whole car and then sand around the bad spot, after two or more coats you will lose the body's details... dab the paint as filler first, sand, prime then paint to color ;Diecast Cars, Hot Wheels, Matchbox

not random choices, the road runner is fairly short from the windshield back and narrow left to right... the chevell's roof is wide and fairly long... a required combination when chopping '60's cars...
