The VanTastic New Year's Race

With 2024 drawing to a close...its time to open 2025 in VanTastic fashion! It's time to showcase your fastest Johnny Lightning van for the stock race down White Lightning Raceway......and then it will be up to you to build a van/brand/casting of your choice to barrel down MileHighRaceway!

Rules & restrictions

• Stock and modified entries allowed
• 99g maximum weight
• 3.25in. long x 2in. tall x 1.25in. wide
• Limit 2 plus mod entries per household $5 per car entry
• Retail axles and wheels only. FTE/NPA axles allowed.
• Don't Soul Glow on my track lol
• Stock Johnny Lightning vans for the stock race...2 entries per household 99g limit
• Modified Race can be any van from any brand....no bearings...tube's ok...99g limit .99 grace for scale variation...no ominous popsicle sticks can be attached to the modified entries 
• Please be on time as I want this to air on New Year's Eve
• All entries will race and will go through our Elevation Inspection Station

Dates & deadlines

All entries must be received by the host before Tuesday, 12/24/2024. Racing is scheduled for Tuesday, 12/31/2024. Results will be posted on or after that date as is convenient for the host.

Include at least $10.00 for return shipping if you want your entries back. Entries not getting returned will be given to the winner as part of the prize.

Racing will be on the White Lightning Raceway. View track profile and specs

Race format and scoring

This will be a single-elimination tournament. A car will move on in the bracket only when it wins two races in a row. Cars will alternate lanes between each race.

The car that wins the final race will be declared the winner. Race host has final decision in all races.
The modified portion will be held on MileHighRaceway and fastest times will advance. You know how we roll this format.

Bracket seeding will be according to qualifying round

Penalties/DNF

Cars are given a grace of 1g over the stated weight limit to account for variance in scales.

If a car fails to meet any of the restrictions listed above, the car will not qualify for victory. Offending cars will still race. Finish position and any prize will go to the runner-up in the case of the penalty car winning.

Cars that fail to run or fit on the track, or that happen to break during racing, will forfeit their matches. Cars that arrive broken will attempt to be minimally repaired before the racing begins. Cars that break during racing will not be repaired or replaced.

Prizes

There will be a Trophy and prize pack to the winner . We hope to see you there and good luck on your race day!
