"TOP FUEL" STREET RACE SEASON SERIES (FULL- In Progress)

I wanted to do an ongoing drag race style event that added the unpredictability element of open track racing. This will be a 12 event series that will span (12) weeks. Every Friday will be an event where 6 rounds of racing will decide that event's winner. Points are earned throughout the event and the team with the most points at the end of (12) events will be crowned champion!

Rules & restrictions

• Modified entries preferred
• 60g maximum weight.
• 3.25in. long x 2in. tall x 1.25in. wide
• Retail axles and wheels only. FTE/NPA axles allowed.
• Must fit on the standard orange track.
• Any lube - Keep it clean
• $5 entry and $5 for any replacement car you send during the event - see Format and Scoring below
• Any casting. Real, concept, fantasy. All you need is a fast casting that is under 60g

Dates & deadlines

All entries must be received by the host before Monday, 6/1/2026. You must have (1) car at the track on June 1st to race. If you are late you cant race. This series will run for 12 weeks and any delays in starting the event will postpone future events. BE ON TIME PLEASE. Racing is scheduled for Every Friday until there are (12) events completed. Results will be posted on or after that date as is convenient for the host.

Include at least $7.00 for return shipping if you want your entries back. One $7 return fee covers return of all entries. Entries not getting returned will be given to the winner as part of the prize.

Track

A rotation of 4 drag strip style tracks with timing gate.

Race format and scoring

Each event will be 6 rounds of racing and (1) point is earned for a race win each round.

Round 1 & 2 will be random draw and lane selection for head to head, single run just like NHRA. Race winner gets a point. Your (2) times from these rounds will be combined for a seeding of the lowest 16 times.

Round 3 is the top 16 bracket #1 vs. #16, #2 vs. #15 etc...top seed in lane 1, lower seed in lane 2, single run and best time moves on and wins a point.

Round 4 is the 8 winners from the bracket with top seed in lane 1 and lower seed in lane 2, single run and best time moves on and wins a point.

Round 5 is the 4 winners from the bracket with top seed in lane 1 lower seed in lane 2, single run and best time goes to the final and wins a point.

Round 6 is the final between the remaining 2 teams with the top seed in lane 1 the lower seed in lane 2, single run and the best time is the event winner and wins a point.

Total event wins will be the tie breaker at the end of (12) events if needed.

Random pairings in round 1,2 and single runs will add some unpredictability to the usual drag strip style racing where after 1 run you have a good idea of who will be in the final.

IMPORTANT!!
There is also the option of sending in a replacement car for your team in this series. IF you feel like your cars performance is falling off or if you think you can make a faster entry you are allowed to. As long as it meets the requirements for rules and regulation. EXAMPLE after event 5, IF you feel your times are falling off, or someone has sent in a faster entry, you can send in a replacement car for event 6 as long as it is at the track in time for the event to start.

Only (1) of your team cars can race in each event for your team.

Penalties/DNF

Cars are given a grace of 1g over the stated weight limit to account for variance in scales.

If a car fails to meet any of the restrictions listed above, the car will not qualify for victory. Offending cars will still race. Finish position and any prize will go to the runner-up in the case of the penalty car winning.

Cars that fail to run or fit on the track, or that happen to break during racing, will forfeit their matches. Cars that arrive broken will attempt to be minimally repaired before the racing begins. Cars that break during racing will not be repaired or replaced.

Prizes

The $5 entry fee will be converted into a Walmart gift card, a winner takes the pot kind of prizing.
