Looks nice.

my camera/lighting can't do it justice.

Try doing it in open shade. For example, If you have a garage open the door so lots of outside light is coming in, but put the car in the shade of the garage door. Not in direct sunlight.

Also there is a tutorial in the Redline Derby blog about making a light box/photo tips.

Your photos look good already. The clean/non distracting background is working.

That's an awesome pink/purple color!! Love it.

Here's the guide for photographing I wrote:
http://www.redlinederby.com/blog/2012/0 ... cast-cars/

Natural light is the best if you can get and control it enough to do what you want. Otherwise, some white light will do the trick and can show off colors well.

Also fiddling with your camera settings can yield some nice results. I use my camera's manual setting to shoot photos...I don't know what all the settings mean, so I just changed things until it looked good. You can set your camera to let in more light and stuff that will really make them pop.

Just reread my photograph article and should mention that while the guide shows that I used a cardboard box - which does work great - I recently remade my lightbox using white foam board from Hobby Lobby. Same style as the box with a hole in the top but with the entire thing being white the light bounces around more and the photos come out even sharper.

All the "new" cars you see in the Fantasy League were taken in the all-white lightbox.

So...I have all this purple paint.
