And I just replied to said PM...and of course I'm in! I'll see when I can schedule some time on my big track.

I have many of the same cars, in fact I have quite a few older FTE cars coming in the mail in the next day or two.

I wanted to get in on this (16 ft straightaway ). I grabbed four cars with different wheels that I know are among some of my faster cars. Then I grabbed four FTE cars. I avoided the really fast ones like the Italia...

It was some very close racing. The purple Camaro has an axle that is wider than it should be and may have contributed to its loss.

Then I just went ahead and ran 'em out.

How close was the final race between the VW Thing & the A-team van?

GO A-TEAM!!!

How close was the final race between the VW Thing & the A-team van?

It was close. I ran them a few times switching lanes and stuff. The van was the winner no doubt about it. I wonder if the Thing would win if it weighed the same. There's probably a point where a weight advantage conquers the FTE's. Ha! There's probably a ratio if anyone cares to figure it out.

-Oh, I suppose that ratio will vari from track to track.

Thanks, TLD.

The funny thing is...I've seen both of those cars on the pegs on more than one occasion, but never bought one.

Yeah, that van was all the rage and hard to find when it first came out, they seem pretty common place now. I think that's the case with a lot of Hot Wheels. I picked up the Thing just out of curiosity about those FTE 2's.

The Thing = 36 Grams
A-Team Van = 52 Grams

Great photos on the mirror glass. Glass has a tendency to look trashy and not show up well in photos, but your angles and lighting is perfect. Very well done, sir.

Great photos on the mirror glass.

Thanks! I try not to spend too much time on the photos during the races. I use the photos to keep track of match ups, winners ect...

Funny thing is, that is a big mirror that is broken with crazy jagged edges that makes it look like some type of Klingon weapon. It was leaning on a wall behind a garbage can. Those were the closest things nearby and handy. I pulled out the garbage can and sat the mirror on top. (I've used it several times and only just recently cleaned it for the first time when the Hardcore Series came to town).

I've thought about it looking gimicky or whatever, but it just works. I'm sure I'll mix it up in the future.

YOU CLEANED YOUR GARBAGE CAN JUST FOR THE HARDCORE DOWNHILL SERIES II ?... YOU'RE ALLRIGHT !

See, I go above and beyond for you guys!

-Oh, I just re-read that. I cleaned the mirror, the garbage can will have to wait for the Featherweights.
