Week 3 circuit tournaments, track specs

Coming up on the weekend of 9/10 we'll be having our first circuit tournaments of the season. We'll be heading out to Washington state to race on JDC442's four lane, 25-foot track. You'll be entering and picking cars from JDC's collection that also in the Redline Derby collection. Please note they may NOT be the same exact cars. Circuit hosts are required to have the same *model and build* of Redline Derby cars, but not the same variant.

Even though four lanes are available, fantasy league races will only be run on the two middle lanes.

The track is a 22' 6" long with 5' 6" length drop at about a 30 degree angle. It's very similar to the Redline Derby track in specs and build, so use that to enter cars and pick your winners.

Tournaments open next Saturday on 9/3 and results posted on 9/11.
The next circuit tournaments will be in October down in Texas.

If you have any questions about these tournaments or the JDC track, just post to this thread.

Cool! I can't wait until we get more tracks into this! I've been building up my collection to match the Redline one better (and also to weed-out the older cars).

I would like to volunteer my track to be part of the circuit. Its roughly a 1:64 scale 1/4 mile track (~20 feet) custom made from the Dragtracks kit. Its got a short drop (~16") and a long flat run. Endurance wins here. The fastest cars take 3.6 seconds to finish. The slow ones crawl and barely trip the finish line lights. The bad ones dont even make it. If I hadnt just put it away I'd send pics.

The schedule for this season is all planned out and next season (the last) will be all local on my track because we're going to run a shorter week schedule because of the holidays. However, when we relaunch next Spring there will be a lot of new tracks and circuit tracks as well. Your track sounds like a good candidate...I'll be posting details and a sort of open call for tracks soon, just need to jot down some more notes.

But in short, to be considered you'll need a good track with a start/finish line, and a lot of cars. Your car collection would need to overlap the Redline Derby collection for at least 64 cars...but the more the better.

Assuming your car collection is big enough then your track sounds like a candidate. I'll be making that open call post soon and I'll PM you with more details later.

64 cars is definitely a challenge. Especially when you take out the "retired" racers. Out of 100 plus cars only about 75% actually make it the full length of the track to the finish line. Maybe once winter gets here, I'll have some time to make a list of contenders we have in common between our collections.

Its only a 10" drop and is 20' 3" long. 1/4 mile is 20' 6".

Oh wow, your drop is super short...no wonder many don't make it. I'd have to say if you want to be a circuit track you'd have to raise that up so the chances of making it to the end are better for every car. Since this is a game that expects a winner and a loser, we can't run the chance of having two cars in a match-up that never make it to the end.

I appreciate the challenge your track presents but we can't forget about keeping the game fun and interesting for players.
