Well, its official...
...I'm "officially" hooked. I just came back from Wallyworld w/7 more cars...3 of which are being shipped off to George for a Gravitywerx* mail-in race.
1. Honda Racer*
2. Batman: Arkham Asylum Batmobile*
3. Scoopa Di Fuego*
4. Fast Felion
5. Bye Focal II (fte)
6. 2009 Corvette 'Stingray' Concept (fte)
7. Custom Volkswagen Beetle
And since I haven't retrieved my HW track from storage yet, I also picked up 2 packs of strait track so I can at least do some basic roll testing @ home in the mean time.

I just went to Target and came back with some The Hot Ones, that is.
1. Sol-Aire CX4
2. El Ray Special
3. `32 Ford Sedan Delivery
4. Spoiler Sport
After seeing footage of the Sol-Aire & El Ray racing @ DCR, I was pleasantly surprised when I found them on the pegs. The Spoiler Sport & `32 Delivery were favorites of mine as a kid and these reproductions seem equally fast. They also had a Fat Fendered '40 and a Delivery Truck, but I didn't buy them because they were wedged in the blister so tightly that their axles appeared to be bent. The funny thing is, I never really payed attention the condition of the axles in the blister when I was buying as 'a collector'...
I retrieved 1 box of HWs(70 total) from storage last night. I was hoping to find a box of track, but I unfortunately lacked the time to dig through the piles of boxes to find it. But I did find some sweet cars that haven't seen the light of day in almost 10yrs and a few of them should force me to rewrite my "fastest cars" list.
Here are a few that I've already begun testing on...
Firebird Funny Car
Shadow Jet
Power Pipes
Cat-A-Pult
Phaeton
Surf Crate
`56 Ford
Cabbin' Fever
Hot Wheels 500
HW Pro Racing Indy cars (2)
Fiat 500c
Ferrari 355
Deuce Roadster
VW Bug
Just got back from Fred Meyer and got some more Hot Ones (Ferrari 512, 308 GTS and F40, '71 Ford Mustang and Baja Breaker). I'm still looking for the Spoiler Sport, Sol Aire and El Ray though. I opened the F40 and was disappointed by the quality -the axle was so loose that the wheels rubbed on the frame. Now I have to tear it apart, put FTE wheels on it and fasten it up with some JB Kwik.

My F40 was like that too. I just decided to use it a showpiece instead of racing it, I really love the paint scheme on it. I'm still looking for the Mustang though!
Thanx, WorpeX. You're right, the Funny Car & Shadow Jet are both pretty fast. But the HW Pro Racing Indy cars make my Ferrari 458 Italia(fte) almost look screamers.
I just made another trip to retrieve some more of my HW stuff from storage. I the Ferraris. I found 46 of them(including 2 THs) packed away in 1 box. All are new and unopened ...some dating back to the early `90s. Other notable cars found packed away with the 'Italian Stallions'...a 30th Ann. reissue of the 1982 Firebird Funny Car, a Hot Rod Magazine Track-T & `33 Ford Roadster, a Camaro Z28, and a `37 Bugatti.
It's gonna be a fun week!
I found one of her up and see if she rolls??
I have the same one now, need to open her up and see what happens. Thunder!

Yea, I've already opened up on of my VW Buses just to see how fast it was...I might as well open up this one tonight.
Mine's already opened, just need to send it down the track. It's flippin' heavy!
thunder roller won't fit under the finish line on an expert racers track... had to chop mine...mine had mis-matched wheels too !
You're in good company. You have a roll of track? Nice! Best I have are the extra long straight pieces from Toys R Us. They're only a dollar so it's a good deal.
