Winter Nationals

Welcome everyone back to another year of Diecast Drag Racing here at Flips Strip. The first race of the year will be a BIG one! This race will be all about Funny Cars. Any funny Car will be allowed. If you have a question about your car message me (Keith Filipiak). It will be a $5 entry fee plus $8 return shipping. We will be allowing 2 entries per household, but it's $5 per car. So if you send 2 cars it'll be $10 enty + $8 shipping. All cars must be here by February 18th. The race will be edited and posted to the LCDRL YouTube channel when convenient for the host. This will be a timed event. Each car will get one run down each lane with the fastest time being recorded. Any tiebreakers will go off the next best time. From the final 4 on the remaining cars will get 2 runs down each lane with the fastest time being recorded. Winner will receive a trophy. Good luck and may the fastest Funny Car win!

Rules & restrictions

• Stock and modified entries allowed
• 80g+1g graceg maximum weight
• 3.25in. long x 2in. tall x 1.25in. wide
• Limit 2 entries per household
• Black wheels only. Must run large wheels on the back and smalls on the front. FTE/NPA axles allowed. No wagon wheels or fantasy wheels
• No bearings
•  Any lube
•  All weight must be concealed inside the car. 
• You can fill the windows 
• No stretching *
• You can glue the car closed
• You can cut the side pipes
• *$5 entry fee + $8 return shipping. If you do not want your car back you obviously wont have to pay for return shipping. *Up to 2 cars per household, but its $5 for each car. So if you send 2 cars it's $10 entry fee + $8 for return shipping.

Dates & deadlines

All entries must be received by the host before Saturday, 2/18/2023. Racing is scheduled for Saturday, 2/18/2023. Results will be posted on or after that date as is convenient for the host.

How to enter

Contact the tournament host to get the shipping address for entry.

Include at least $8.00 for return shipping if you want your entries back. Entries not getting returned will be given to the winner as part of the prize.

Include a Race Entry ID slip with your entry

Track

We will be racing at Flips Strip. It has a 2ft drop with a 10ft run out. It is made from Hot Wheels orange track. The track uses a KaBoom start gate and finish gate.

Race format and scoring

This will be a timed event. Each car will get one run down each lane with the fastest time being recorded. Any tiebreakers will go off the next best time. From the final 4 on the remaining cars will get 2 runs down each lane with the fastest time being recorded.

Penalties/DNF

Cars are given a grace of 1g over the stated weight limit to account for variance in scales.

If a car fails to meet any of the restrictions listed above, the car will not qualify for victory. Offending cars will still race in the first round. After that they will be parked and will not continue the race.

Cars that fail to run or fit on the track, or that happen to break during racing, will forfeit their matches. Cars that arrive broken will attempt to be minimally repaired before the racing begins. Cars that break during racing will not be repaired or replaced.

Prizes

Winner will receive a trophy. Will have a few extras thrown in for the rest of the top 4.
